Present for mom. Present for you.

As you all know, Mother’s day is just a few days away. If your anything like me, you have a bit of a difficult time this time of year deciding on the perfect gift for mom. My mom like most moms generally has everything she wants. So normally I would go into our local florist shop and purchase her a beautiful flower arrangement. This year though, I would like to tell you all about a different type of idea that concerns flowers.

If your having a difficult time deciding what to give mom, then why not check out flatplasticvases.com. This company sells folded collapsible vases to put any type of flower arrangement in. All the vases on their site are completely re-usable so when you purchase a product from this site, you are getting the best of both worlds. You are giving mom something that she will enjoy for years to come and because these products are re-usable, you are also saving the environment from any unnecessary waste. And if your order a vase before mother’s day, you will receive two free vases. So this is where the present for you comes in. You can give one to your mother, one to your mother-in-law and keep one for yourself.

So if you’ve been looking for that perfect gift to give mom, why not give this site a try. Not only will you make mom happy with this very unique purchase, but you will also be helping the environment as well.

Boys will be boys

I don’t know who is the bigger kid in my house. My husband or my seven year old son. Yesterday after supper my husband asked me son if he would like to go for a drive on the four wheeler. Oh, what a silly man! So they both got ready and off on the bike they went. Now, you have to understand that when they both left them as well as their bike were completely mud free when they left. But as you can see from the following picture, that was not the case when they arrived home.

It was actually quite funny as when they arrived back home they both stuck their heads in the house like little kids and stated “I got a little muddy”. Little muddy wasn’t the word for it. So it was in the bath for both of them as well as the washer running half the night. But by the grin on both of their faces, you could tell that they both had fun so I guess it was worth it.

Still house hunting

Well now that we have officially started our house hunting, I have been in contact with several different mortgage lenders. As this is the first time that we have tried to acquire a mortgage, I am really unsure as to what the process is. I know that a person should really get a few quotes so that is why I have contacted several lenders. Whoever gives us the best deal with the least hassle will probably be the company that we end up going with. Although this process is highly confusing, it is also extremely exciting. But I can’t wait until it’s all said and done and we are finally moved into our own little home.

Problems with getting older

As my 40th birthday approaches rather quickly (May 9), it has gotten me to thinking about some of the challenges and problems we face as we get older. One problem that I have discovered over recent years is that my memory is pretty much shot. My long term memory seems to be what the problem is. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or if there are some things in my past that I choose not to remember. It’s not a great big deal, but it would sure be nice if I could buy memory and be able to remember a lot more things that have happened in my past. But since this isn’t likely to happen I’ll just have to be happy with the memories that I do still have.

Going shopping

The kids are home from school today so I have decided that them and I will take a little trip down to our local garden center to purchase some garden decor. The inside of our home is almost completely renovated now so I need to start working on our outside space. I’m looking at purchasing some planters and I would also like to take a closer look at their outside fountains. So hopefully I’ll find some items I like and then our outside space will look at nice as the inside space does.

Jewelry update

So I thought I would give you all an update on how I’m doing with my homemade jewelry creations. I have quite a few pieces made and I plan to start selling them at my father in law’s upcoming garage sales. I have tried to sell them via the Internet, but haven’t seen very many sales through this method. I think part of the problem is that when your selling off the Internet, the pictures just don’t do the pieces justice. And then of course you have to add shipping charges to all your prices, so the pieces become a little more expensive. So I will try to sell them in person to people and see how I make out with this course of action. I can’t do any worse then I’m doing right now. So hopefully I will do better.

Internet burn out

I have been working from home on the Internet for a little over two years now.  I have to say that I am really enjoying being able to earn a little extra money while being home to raise my two youngest children.  But I have to say that lately I am starting to feel a little burnt out from spending so much time on the Internet.  Lately when I get up the last thing I want to do is turn on my computer, but the very first thing I do is turn on my computer.  I know that if I don’t sit at the computer and write posts, I won’t get paid and this stays on my mind as long as I am not on the computer.  I’m seriously starting to think about taking a small break from all my computer work.  Or I may even just try to spend less time per day on the computer.  Either way, I have to do something before I get totally burnt out.

A little sad tonight

Tomorrow my oldest son will turn 19.  His turning 19 doesn’t make me sad.  But him being so far away from home on his birthday does.  Last May he moved out on he this own quite far away and we haven’t actually seen him since last July.  This will be the first birthday that we haven’t celebrated as a family and I guess that’s why I’m a little sad tonight.  Just thinking that he won’t be around around and the two younger kids won’t get to see him on his birthday will take a little getting used to.  But I’m sure he will have a wonderful day and I’m sure I will hear all about it in his next e-mail.
