Kara and Daniel at their finest!

I really do love my little monkey’s, but I really wish they would work with me a little more when I am trying to get a good picture out of them! As you can see by this picture, they really enjoy hamming it up for the camera and no amount of me saying “stop that!” would get them to behave. But, you know what, this is exactly how my kids are. They are a lively bunch and they don’t take life all that seriously. Even when I want them too. I love them to death, but one of these days I am going to get a good picture of them and then look out! LOL

Scrapbooking contest.

Many of you may not be aware of this. But a little while ago I entered a scrapbooking contest over at Christine Murphy’s. If I win, I will win some pretty neat scrapbooking stuff. For the past week, the voting has been open to the public. I was doing pretty good for a while, but now I am falling behind. So, this is my plea to you all to please come out and vote for KIM. You can vote just the once if that is what you would like, of if you would like to help me out further, you can vote every day until October 31. The choice is yours as every vote counts and I would appreciate even one vote.

Thanks for all your support in this matter!!

No hot water!

Life just isn’t going good these days.  Over the weekend we were without power for a few hours and we wake up today with no hot water.  We have warm, but no hot.  That makes it a little difficult for us to have showers and wash dishes. (it does give me an excuse not to do dishes LOL).  But with two kids in school and my husband going to work we really need this hot water so they can get clean.  The earliest the repair man can come out is tomorrow morning so I guess we have no choice but to sit back and wait.  Hopefully he comes in the morning like he suppose to so I don’t have to sit around and wait all day tomorrow as well.

Oh well, there’s nothing I can do about it now so I’ll just sit back and wait “patiently”.

New Hobby

Yes, it has happened again. I have gotten bored with my current crafting projects. So, I have decided that I want to try something different. I have been considering trying to make some home made and personalized jewelry. There seems to be a pretty good market for this type of work. And, if my projects don’t turn out like I want them too, my daughter will end up with a lot of nice pieces of jewelry. I have bought a couple of books and after I have read them to determine the time and money that this will involve, I may just start making this type of craft. A couple of other crafts that I would like to try my hand at would be soap making and candle making. Who knows, hopefully soon I’ll be able to let you all know that I’m an expert jewelry maker. LOL

Old family photos

Many of you in here probably don’t know this but in 2003 I lost both of my parents. My dad past away from a lengthy battle of lung cancer in July and in December my mother passed away very suddenly. So, it was a pretty rough year for me and my family. After they were both gone the only thing I asked my brothers for were family photos. I really didn’t want anything else. Being the nice guys that they are, they gave me all the old photos. It took me well over a year to be able to look at these pictures, but when I was finally able to look at them, they did give me great comfort. So, I would like to share with you one of the photos that I have of my parents. They are the couple on the left and this photo was taken over 40 years ago.

Amazing teacher

So far so good. My youngest son is in grade 2 and so far during his school years he has had some pretty amazing teachers. Well this year seems to be a lot of the same. Last night him and his sister sat down and made a Halloween craft. This morning, once it was finished and dried, he wanted to take it to school to give to his teacher. When he got home from school this afternoon, he was so excited. His teacher gave him a note. The note said that she loved the Halloween decoration and it thanked him for making it for her. This is the type of teacher that I love for my kids to have. The appreciate even the smaller gesture from the children and they make sure that the children know they are appreciated. I know it is kind of wishful thinking on my part, but I really hope this trend of amazing teachers continues over the entire course of his academic career.
