They just can’t win

Just before Christmas both my younger kids came down with some pretty serious illnesses. My son had a massive ear infection and my daughter ended up with phenomia. Well my youngest son is sick again and I just got back from taking him to the doctor’s. He has phenomia. He just can’t win. It’s only been a couple of months since I had him in with the ear infection. But, now that we know what he has, he can be treated and hopefully start to feel better soon.

The shame of all this, is that today is the start to March break for the kids and he ends up not feeling well. But with his medicine, hopefully within the next couple of days he will be on his way to recovery and will be able to enjoy what is left of his March break.

Their home for nine days!

When my daughter gets off the school bus today, it will officially be the start of the kid’s March break. That means nine whole days of having them home and underfoot. Their actually not real bad kids, it’s just that they get bored and start fighting a lot. And because it’s so cold outside, I can’t even send them outside to play. It’s weeks like this that I really wish I could afford to rent a room in one of the hotels in Vegas. A vacation of this type would certainly give them something to do. But because were poor and my husband has to work, we will be staying home. Hopefully I can plan enough activities to keep them so busy that they forget to fight.

Spring cleaning

I’m going to start my spring cleaning next week. I know it’s not spring yet, but since I have a little extra time in my life, I’ve decided to get a head start on it. The first room I have decided to tackle is the living room. It is so cluttered full of stuff that I really need to get things organized in there so it looks like a living room again. I have discovered that I really need to purchase some audio racks to clean things up a bit. I have Cd’s and Dvd’s laying all over the place and I really need to find places to put all these items. When I finally have this mess cleaned up, I am going to tackle my husband’s computer stand next. He’s not going to like me very much for going through all his stuff, but…oh well. It needs to be done.

I despise winter driving

I really despise winter driving!   This morning when I drove the kids down to the bus stop to go to school I had no problems except that it took me 10 minutes to scrape the “Ice” off my car.  Not just snow but ice.  Well that was my workout for today, or so I thought.  Then just a little past nine I decided to go to the bank to get all my banking business done for the week.  Well guess what?!  I got stuck!!  I couldn’t get out of the driveway because of all the ice.  I even got out of my car and shoveled all the snow that was around the tires and I still couldn’t get out.  That was workout number two.  Thankfully I have a husband who is only a phone call away.  I called him and told him my problem so he left work and got my car unstuck for me.  So I was able to go to the bank after all.  But I have to tell you all that I’m seriously done with winter and can’t wait to see spring arrive.

My Friend Has Bad Credit

When a friend of mine went to apply for her very first Car Loan she was very disappointed when she got turned down. The reason for his disappointment was that she really needed this car to get back and forth to her new job. The bank did tell her why they turned her down and it was because of her bad credit. So being the nice person that I am, I directed her to a site where she would be able to check out numerous Bad Credit Personal Loans to be able to make her car purchase after all.

After browsing the site, she discovered that not only do they provide most types of loans for any credit situation, but the interest and repayment schedule were very acceptable as well. Just because you have made a couple of mistakes in life, you shouldn’t have to be punished for the rest of your life for this. And, this is exactly why this site is in existence. So, hopefully she will get the loan she needs and be able to start that new job after all.

It’s tax time

Oh the dreaded tax season has arrived.  But, for the first time in seven years, I have some great news.  I’m getting a refund!!  Yesterday my last T4 arrived in the mail so I was able to do my taxes up last night.  I couldn’t do my husband’s as we are still waiting for his T4 from his job.  After about an hour, much to my amazement, I discovered that the government actually owes me money.  So I was doing a happy happy dance.  I can’t formally file it yet as I need my husband’s numbers to file my own, but knowing that this money will eventually be coming in has made my day.  I am quite content to wait for the check to arrive so I can go out and spend it.

How do all your taxes look this year?

We’re purchasing new furniture

Now that we have made the huge leap of purchasing our brand new couch, I’m getting the purchasing fever again. I would love to have new furniture in the bedrooms and maybe a new dining room set as well. I think it would be extremely cool if I could find some unique environmentally friendly furniture to furnish my home with.

This is why I was very excited to come across this online store where I would be able to purchase this exact type of furniture. Purchasing this type and quality of product is not only good for the environment, but it sends a very good message to my children. Through this site I have discovered that I can make these purchases directly from the site and very reasonable rates. They will ship any and all purchases directly to my home. Their helpful staff makes any purchasing matters as easy as if you were standing in a department store. So, when I have finally talked my husband into parting with his hard earned money, I’m going to go on a little shopping spree via this site.

The date was a bust!

Well I would like to say that our date last night turned out great and it was magical and all that good stuff, but I can’t!  While we were getting ready to go out, he got a phone call.  Yup, he got called out to go to work.  So guess where that left me.  Home with the kids.  It honestly shouldn’t have surprised me as much as it did, as his work is constantly doing this to us, but I have to tell you that I’m starting to get mad.

I understand he has to work for a living, but there is a serious problem when some one’s work becomes their life.  This is the way things are headed in our household.  And yes, he was just as mad about the whole situation as I was (maybe more), but what can you do?  He had to go.  So the kids and I just stayed home and watched a bit of TV.  I don’t know when he got home (I went to bed), but I can tell you that this event did not improve his mood one little bit.  So no date and I still get to live with a bear.

Were going out on a date!

A couple of weeks ago my husband’s father offered his baby sitting services to us.  So we decided that we would take him up on his kind offer and go out on a date tonight.  We are going to go out for dinner and then to watch a show.  This probably doesn’t sound real exciting to all you guys, but since my husband and I haven’t been out alone for almost a year, this night is quite exciting to me.  My husband has been in a very “foul” mood for the past week and I’m hoping that an evening out is just what the doctor ordered.  It certainly can’t hurt.  So the kids will be with grampie and my husband and I will be alone for once.  It’s a win win situation all the way around.  Except for my father in law.  But hey, he offered!

Methane gas detectors are a very important part of my life

Because I live in an older home that was built years ago near a couple of gas stations, I have found that having methane gas detectors is very important for the health of my family. Honestly you don’t know what you and your family are breathing in and how it’s affecting all your health until you do a little research. And then, you understand why it’s so important to have this type of equipment on hand. If there is any type of leak near your property these detectors will let you know of any potential danger that your family may be exposed to. These is a very essential product to have access to and it could save the life of your family members.
