The “mud” boy

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day in our area (about time).  The sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was plus 10 out.  I think spring has finally arrived!  Yeah!!

So because it was such a gorgeous day, my husband decided to take out the four wheeler.  When he asked my youngest son if he would like to go for a ride, he jumped at the chance.  When they left the yard, there was a seven year old little boy sitting on the back of the bike with a smile as big as the earth.  When they arrived back in the yard, my son was transformed into the “mud” boy. lol  After peeling off the layers, I did find Daniel underneath all the mud.  Although this created a little bit of extra work for me, the smile that was and still is plastered all over his face was totally worth it.

I’m going to be a great aunt again

A couple of years ago my oldest brother moved quite far away and now we are only able to keep in contact through phone calls and e-mails.  And we really don’t use these services very much either.  Last  week he called me to tell me that he is going to be a grandfather again.  That would make me a great aunt again.

Because my niece lives with him, anything I send her for the baby will take quite a while to get to her.  So I have been thinking about a great gift to send her and the baby.  I have decided to wait until have she has the baby to send her something.  I want to know if she has a boy or a girl and what she has named it so I can send her some personalized baby clothes. So although she won’t get my present until after the baby is born, I think she will still like it as it will be personalized.

Setting up the home office

As you all know, I am now a work at home mom. Because I spend so much time online and have a lot of business/office equipment, my husband gave me our spare room for my home office. I pretty much have everything in the office that I want, but I would really love to have a couple of leather office chairs in the room as well. I just think it would look more professional and I know it would definitely be more comfortable than what I am currently using. But, everything does take time and it won’t be much longer when I have the entire office set up the way I want it.

The “monkey” has been at it again.

I’ve got to tell  you all that my son is a constant source of amusement  for me.  You never know what is going to come out of his lips from one day to the next.  And of course when he says something amusing or entertaining, I always like to come in and share.  Well, I’ll call this my laugh for the day.

Wednesday night he came home from school but had forgotten some of his homework in his desk.  So obviously he couldn’t do it.  So we did what we could and I sent him back to school the next day.  When he got home from school yesterday I asked him if he got in trouble for not  reading the book that was assigned to him the night before.  Well, he looked at me and said no.  When I asked him why, he then stated “because I didn’t show it to her”.  I guess that was how he got around that situation.  LOL

Work at home moms

As most of you are already aware of, I am a stay at mom to two young children. I actually have three kids, but my oldest son is now 18 and lives out on his own. So currently I only have to take care of two kids. I wasn’t always a stay at home mom. For almost seven years I did hold a full time job working outside of the home but in May of last year I lost my babysitter and was unable to find another reliable one. So I gave my notice and quit my job.

Prior to losing my job, I could see that I wasn’t going to be able to work outside of the home past May so I started looking for ways in which I could earn extra income working from home. That’s when I found PayPerPost and discovered that I could make money doing paid reviews on my blogs. Well this situation has worked out great. Not only am I able to supplement our household income through paid blogging, but this arrangement gives me the opportunity to stay at home with my two younger kids. Due to this arrangement my kids are happier, my husband is happier and so am I.

Now I would like to tell you all about another opportunity that will allow me to stay at home and make more income doing it. This opportunity is known as SocialSpark and has been created by the creators of PayPerPost. With this program, you will be able to do paid blogging, sponsorships and so much more. Right now this system is in the alpha stage which I am so thrilled to be a part of, so it is not available to the public yet. But if your a “mommy” and would like to discover a fantastic way to earn income while staying at home with your kids, then go check out the site and sign up for more information that will be made available to you when the site goes live. Your kids will thank you for it!!

I’m not a photographer

One of the things that I just love looking at while visiting other peoples blogs are all the nice pictures that they have posted.  They look so attractive and professional and really do add something to the site.  I have had a couple of comments on different blogs about my lack of pictures on my sites and this is actually what prompted this particular post.

I seriously suck at taking pictures and don’t get me started on the art of uploading them.  I can do a lot of things crafting wise and I would love to be able to come in and post lovely pictures for you all to see, but when I take the picture and upload it on any site, it normally looks very unattractive.  I do upload some and would probably upload more if I didn’t suck so bad at this part of blogging.

So if you’ve been wondering why you don’t see many beautiful pictures on this site or any others that I own, now you know.

Dog or bike??

The other day my husband was looking online at different pictures of dogs that people are currently selling.  Although my two younger kids want a dog really bad, I refuse to pay $500 dollars for a small dog.  So just for fun my husband asked my youngest son if he could have either a dog or a new four wheeler, which one would he pick.  My husband and I both expected that he would pick the four wheeler as he just loves going out on the bike with his father.  So we were quite surprised when he said he would rather take the dog!  He then started laughing and said he already had a four wheeler (his father’s), so if he got a dog he would be able to have both.

This kid is always thinking.

I need a new bracelet

While I was growing up, we discovered that I have a lot of allergies to different medications. I did where a medical alert bracelet when I was younger, but over the years I’ve misplaced it and have never replaced it again. This got me to thinking about how this is not safe. If anything ever happened to me and I was unable to tell anyone of my allergies, I would be in major trouble. Some of my allergies are quite sever.

So I think that I really need to buy some medical alert jewelry to keep me safer. Because I have such small wrists and wearing anything on my wrists bothers me, I think I’m going to purchase a medical alert necklace. I’ve never worn one of these before, but I think in my case it may be more comfortable so then maybe I will wear it like I should.

You couldn’t wipe the smile off his face

This has been a very long winter for not only myself but for my kids as well.  Because of all the snowstorms and bad weather that we have been experiencing, the kids haven’t been able to get out of the house much to play.  So this means that my little fellow hasn’t been able to go out on his father’s four wheeler at all this season and that has been a major disappointment for him.

Well on Sunday it was a pretty decent day so my husband took my son out for a drive on the four wheeler.  They were gone for over an hour and my young son even got to do some of the driving.  When he got home you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face and it’s still plastered there.  He really loves going out on the bike, and now with spring almost here (fingers crossed), hopefully he will get out more often.
