I’m a little disappointed

Last week my oldest son sent me an e-mail requesting that I get the rest of his stuff together and send it to him by bus. By the sounds of this request, it doesn’t sound like he is planning on coming home for a visit any time soon. This is a major disappointment to me. We haven’t seen him since July of last year and we all miss him very much.

But I did what he asked and packed up his stereo, TV and computer. The stereo and TV are in pretty good shape, but I can’t say the same thing for his computer. When he gets his stuff, he is really going to need to invest a little money in some extra dell memory for his computer. But it’s his stuff, so I sent it. It is now up to him what he will end up doing with his stuff. I really wish he didn’t live so far away or at least comes home for a visit soon, but this e-mail makes me think that this is not going to happen.

Pretty crappy weekend

So far this summer I would have to say this has been the crappiest weekend. We didn’t get to go camping (big surprise) but that’s not why the weekend was bad. It has rained non stop all weekend so doing anything outdoors has not been an option. And because the kids were stuck inside all weekend, all they did was fight! I understand we need the rain, but for some reason in our area it only decides to rain on the weekends. But today is Sunday and the weekend is almost over so hopefully the rain will be too. Tuesday is July first and here in Canada that means we have a holiday. Hopefully the weather will be more co-operative on that day then it’s been every weekend so far this summer.

Men are big babies

Why is it when men need to go have any type of procedure done, they turn into huge babies? My husband is no exception in this matter. For the past couple of weeks my husband has been having troubles with his stomach again so his doctor has decided to re-run all the tests that he had done in February. Hopefully these tests will tell them more about what’s going on in his system than they did in February. Maybe all he need is to have a colon cleanser procedure of some sort?? But he is not looking forward to having these tests done again and all he has been doing is complaining about them since he found out he has to go. He has to go, so…I don’t understand why he’s complaining. If it were me, I would want to know what is wrong with me so they could fix it and I could get better.

I should be a plumber

When I was growing up, one of the professions in life that I wanted to have was certainly not to become a plumber. But these days I kind of wish that I had taken that plumbing course after all. For months now I have had a leaky faucet in the bathroom and all my nagging, pleading and begging to have it fixed has fallen on deaf ears. I love my husband to death, but sometimes he really does annoy me. If it’s a problem that he has no interest in, he won’t even look at it. So I have decided that I have two options. Option number 1 would be to take a plumbing course and fix the thing myself. Or, option number 2 would be to continue to nag. As nagging doesn’t cost anything and plumbing school does, I guess I’ll go with option number 2.

Better day today

I’m having a much better day today on the Internet than I had yesterday.  For the better part of seven hours yesterday I was unable to access any of my sites.  I wasn’t able to do any posts or reply to any comments.  After contacting my server provider, I was informed that the site was down due to maintenance.  Normally this wouldn’t bother me as I realize that all sites need maintenance at some point in time, but what did bother me was the fact that the company didn’t bother to inform me that this was taking place.  Communication is the key to keeping happy customers and because of the poor communication yesterday, I was not a happy customer.  But since I’m able to post this today, I am once again a happy customer.  I just hope this type of thing doesn’t happen again for a very long time to come.

Summer presents

As June is nearing it’s end, I have a lot of presents I need to buy for people. I need to purchase a present for my husband for our anniversary, a graduation present for our nephew and a graduation present for our neighbors child. Since all these presents will be bought for a man, I was thinking of purchasing them all a nice fancy gold watch. Since there are three of them to buy for, I will need to buy three gold watches and that could run me into quite a bit of money.

Thankfully I found a site over at thewatchery.com where I can purchase some really nice Ebel watches at extremely low prices. This company supplies consumers with the best quality watches at the best prices. Right now they have a unique promotion going on that if you order a watch online, you will receive a second watch at no extra charge. This promotion is applicable for most of the watches in their inventory. But, if you don’t need a free watch, they will give you discounts on all you purchases for up to 80% off.

Having to purchase three of these items myself, this site will save me a lot of money.Their products are top quality and their prices are among the lowest on the Internet. So if you have presents (male or female) that you need to purchase, why not consider purchasing a watch and dropping by this site. The owner of the watch will be extremely happy with their gift and you will be happy knowing all the money you saved.

I took the weekend off

Well I finally did it!  I took the weekend off from my computer.  I did no posts on any of my blogs and only did a very small amount of Entrecard drops.  I have never done this type of thing in the past two years of being on the Internet.  This was the first weekend of the kids summer break and I decided that what I really wanted to do was spend some quality time with the kids.  And…I did!  We went camping, spent a lot of time outside and just had a lot of fun.

I did feel a bit guilty for not updating the blogs over the weekend but figured they would still be there for me this morning.  I had so much fun this weekend with the kids, that I think this summer I will probably take more time off.  After all my kids are only young once and it won’t be too long before they will be both too “old” to play with dear old mom.  So I’m going to enjoy this time while I can.

Final day of school

Well today is the kid’s final day of school.  Because it’s the final day, it’s only half a day so they will be arriving home on the buses around 11:30 am.  They didn’t have to go to school today, but they both wanted to as they wanted to go to say good bye to their teachers and friends.  Both kids had a wonderful year at school but are happy to see this year come to an end and summer vacation start up.  We have a very busy summer planned so the time will just fly by and soon it will be time to start getting ready for school again.  Kara will be headed into grade 5 and Daniel will be making his way up to grade 3.

Failing job market

Here in Canada our job market is slowly shrinking. It’s getting harder and harder for kids coming out of school to find a decent job anywhere. Either they need to go back to school (which some cannot afford) or they end up taking a job that pays very little. I have to wonder if this is the same in all areas of the world or if there are areas where the jobs are more plentiful. I sometimes wonder how many good jobs in Philadelphia or other parts around the world there are for the younger generation. It’s really no wonder why a lot of people are moving out of our area. And if this trend continues, I can honestly see our population size decreasing in years to come.
