I’m a little disappointed

Last week my oldest son sent me an e-mail requesting that I get the rest of his stuff together and send it to him by bus. By the sounds of this request, it doesn’t sound like he is planning on coming home for a visit any time soon. This is a major disappointment to me. We haven’t seen him since July of last year and we all miss him very much.

But I did what he asked and packed up his stereo, TV and computer. The stereo and TV are in pretty good shape, but I can’t say the same thing for his computer. When he gets his stuff, he is really going to need to invest a little money in some extra dell memory for his computer. But it’s his stuff, so I sent it. It is now up to him what he will end up doing with his stuff. I really wish he didn’t live so far away or at least comes home for a visit soon, but this e-mail makes me think that this is not going to happen.

    It is hard to be so far away from your children. I hope you do get to see him soon. My kids live far away from me as well, but I do manage to go and see them a few times a year. My one daughter didn’t live close to an airport so that was more of a production, BUT this summer she and her hubby are relocating to a town not far from an airport. Needless to say I am overjoyed!

    This is far from disappointment….its rather heart-breaking…thoughts like, “this boy used to cling on to me wherever I go….Now, he prefers a world without my presence….”

    but boys are boys, though mentally prepared I am, I still fear that day would come when my boys do that to me….

    Hi, first time here. Nice blog. I emphasize with you about your son. It is very hard to realize that no matter what we as Moms want, it comes second to our grown children.
