I am determined

Well yesterday I had a much better afternoon in my creating of jewelry.  I spent three hours creating a very pretty pink and white three stranded bracelet and I was very pleased with the outcome.  It was a much better afternoon than the one before.  First I spent a little while taking out the one I had made the previous afternoon and then because I am determined and am trying to create at least one piece a day, I went back at it.  This one took me a little longer because I took my time as I only wanted to make it once, not twice.  After I get a few more pieces made, I will be uploading the pictures so you can all take a peek at my latest creations.

A must have item for any homemaker

Being a mother and a wife, one of my job titles just happens to be “maid”. It doesn’t matter how many times I clean up after my family, I can turn around and find another mess just waiting for me. If your a housewife, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Being a “maid” comes with very little perks in life. Not only do you not get the recognition that you deserve, but you also don’t get any pay. So I’ve decided to start my own home union and ask for certain perks from my family. The first perk I will be seeking will be the purchase of Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner. After 15 years of loyal service, I feel I deserve this machine.

Vacuum cleaners have come a long way since my ancestors time and the Energy Star is now one of the best products on the market. Not only is it the most efficient product on the market, but it’s light weight and portable to help make all those little messes disappear. Faster cleaning makes for more coffee breaks for me which is essential on any job site.

So my “employers” had better hear my pleas and get ready for some major negotiations otherwise this “maid’ is going on strike.

Waste of an afternoon

Yesterday I decided to start creating all the jewelry that I’m going to want to have done in the next six weeks.  I got out all my supplies and spent three hours on one necklace.  Well I have to tell you all that it was a complete waste of my time.  The necklace didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to so I now have to take it all out and start over.  This really made me mad!  Oh well.  Things like that do happen.  So I’m going to take apart this necklace and try again this afternoon.  The one thing I can say about myself is that I won’t stop trying until I have it done and I think it’s perfect.  This piece wasn’t, so it’s back to the drawing board for me.  I just wish it hadn’t taken me three hours to discover that I didn’t like the creation.

Busy six weeks

For the next six weeks, I will be a busy little beaver.  I need to make as much jewelry as I can in the next six weeks.  Thankfully I have tons of beading supplies so I don’t need to make any purchases, just jewelry.  I was talking to a friend of mine that goes to a lot of craft and dog shows.  The first of August she will be going to two major shows and has offered to take all my jewelry inventory with her to try to sell for me.  So the more inventory I can have made up and give to her, the more profits I can potentially make.  So it’s going to be a busy time for me.  I’ll have the two kids home on summer break and I’ll still have to get all this jewelry made around their schedules.  But hopefully she will sell a lot of my stuff and I can make a lot of money.

Dealing with acne

Last month I was finally able to get all my pesky acne under control. I used the last of the acne solutions that I had in my home and because I thought I had this problem under control I didn’t bother to purchase any more. Well I should have. Yesterday I woke up with another break out and didn’t have a thing in the house to take care of it. So I had to go out and purchase some more. I really wish I could find something that would work to not only take the acne away at the time, but to make it stay away forever. Does anyone know of a product that would make this problem disappear forever? I can’t believe at my “old” age I still have to be concerned about this problem.

Camping necessity

Today we are going to be able to go on our first camping trip of the season. Finally the weather is going to co-operate with us and it’s suppose to be sunny all weekend. So I probably won’t be online much this weekend as I won’t be able to take my laptop with me. I am planning to take my computer with me on upcoming trips, I just need to get a memory stick for it first. But since I’ve been on the Internet constantly for the past few months, I think the break from my computer may be a good thing. It would be nice to have something to do after the kids go to bed, but I’ll just have to find something else to do with my time.

Kid’s insurance

Every year the kids come home with some forms from their school for life insurance for kids. I think this is a pretty good idea. Not only does this coverage work as life insurance, but it also works as accidental insurance as well. This means that if the kids are outside playing and something happens (god forbid), they will be covered. Or if mom or dad need to take some time off work to take care of the child their salaries will be covered as well. I know this is a topic that I really don’t like to think about, but unfortunately life happens and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

No camping this weekend

By this time every week I am usually posting about our upcoming camping trip for this weekend.  Then on Sunday I am usually crabbing because we haven’t been able to go due to the weather.  Well I’m here to report that we now have no plans on going camping this upcoming weekend.  We were going to, but my youngest son kind of messed up that plan.  But in a good way.  One of his best friends at school is having his birthday party this weekend and has invited Daniel to go.  Since this is a boy that Daniel plays with a lot and talks about a lot, we have agreed to let him go.  So for the first time in about a month, I really don’t care what the weather will be like.  But, watch it be nice.  lol

Family vacation in France

One of my best friend is headed on a three week vacation this summer to France. And although I couldn’t be more thrilled for her that she is able to take part in this wonderful vacation, I am also a little bit jealous as well. What I wouldn’t give to jump into her suitcase and arrive at a destination like Morbihan. This is definitely one of my biggest dreams in life, and mark my words, before my time on earth is finished, I will be headed out to France for my own once in a life time vacation destinations.

There are so many places for a person to go see in France that it would take a person a life time to experience all the experiences that France has to offer. But if it were me going to France instead of her, one area that I would definitely be exploring would be the Orne area. From pictures that I have seen on the television and in newspapers this spot looks so inviting and relaxing.

If I were to go anytime soon though I would probably end up taking my kids with me. If I ended up taking the children, then a definite stopping spot would be in Perigord Pourpre. They have so many activities going on in this area that there is definitely something that the whole family would enjoy.

But until I am able to realize this dream of mine, I’ll just have to be content with looking at the pictures that my friend will take and bring home to us. I really do hope that she has a wonderful time, I just wish I could be going with her.

Not a good day for a barbecue

Today both the kids are suppose to be having a barbecue and I have to say that’s it’s not a very good day for it.  Last month they both went to the town hall and planted some marigold seeds.  Today they were going back to plant the marigold flowers and as a thanks for all their hard work, the town was putting on a barbecue for all the kids involved.  But it’s been raining outside all morning and is just now starting to clear up.  But kids will be kids and I know they will enjoy their adventure; even in the rain.  I don’t think the volunteer parents and teachers will be too impressed, but as long as the kids have a good time, I guess that’s all that matters.  I’m just happy that I didn’t volunteer for this particular field trip.
