He’s getting married.
A couple of weeks ago my father in law informed us that he is getting married to a woman that he has only known for a couple of months. For those of you who aren’t aware of this story. My mother in law passed away in September of last year after a two year battle with stomach cancer. Her and my father in law had been married for over 48 years at the time of her death. My father in law was devastated by his loss. But he eventually did move on.
The family is not really impressed with his deciding to marry after such a short time in morning, but he’s an adult and his mind made up, so what can you do?! I don’t think I’ll be running out and purchasing any bridal lingerie for his wife to be. But I will support his decision in the best way that I can and try to be happy for him. Oh…my husband is going to be his best man.

A similar thing happened with my father in law after my mother in law passed away after a similar battle with pancreatic cancer. He re-married way to quickly, as far as my wife was concerned.

this is something quite rare over at this side of the planet…but to get over a wife of 48years in such a short time…I guess tells alot about the depth of that love…

I understand how you feel on this one. My mum did the same thing after my father died. She was devastated and after only 6 months married a man she had only know for 4 months.
As you say they are adults and we cannot live there lives for them but it certainly caused a lot of sadness in the family that dad had not long gone.
