Happy day but kind of sad

Today is a really good day at our house.  It is mine and my husband’s 7th wedding anniversary.  Yup seven years ago the entire family walked down the isle to say “I do”.  Although my husband and I have been together for over 14 years, it took him well over 7 years to convince me to get married.  But after seven years of marital bliss (cough), I’m certainly glad I did.

Now for the sad part.  Today is also the day of the anniversary of my father’s death.  Four years ago today my dad passed away from lung cancer.  So although I do celebrate this day with my husband, a little part of my heart is sad as it is also the day I lost my father.

    Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! Our 11th is coming up next month. That’s sad that your father’s death is on your anniversary but really no matter what date you lose a parent, I think it would still stick in your mind. I’m sure it does put a slight damper on your anniversary though. It’s a very hard thing to lose our parents.

    What a awful coincidence! But still I need to say Happy Wedding Anniversay!

    So the Wedding Anniversary (4 years ago) was spent in tears….I’m so sorry to hear about your dad, hope the wound in your heart is healing well…
