Tearful goodbyes

Today is the last full day of my sister in law’s visit. First thing tomorrow morning her and her husband and son will be jumping back on the airplane and headed for home. They had a great two weeks here and are already talking about how they will be able to swing a visit again next year. They were just here saying their goodbyes to the kids and the kids were quite upset. This is their favorite aunt and uncle but because they live so far away they don’t get to see them very often. But hopefully they will make a return visit next summer or maybe we can go out to visit. You never know what can take place in a year.

Those goodbyes are always so hard - when family is far away - especially hard on the kids. We’re headed out to vacation with the extended family for a week, and I know my son will be sad on the way back home. Part of life…
