Watching the kids on the computer

My two kids love to play on the computer. When I got my new laptop last February I gave them my old one to play on. It’s not a very fast computer and doesn’t have a whole lot of memory in it, but it will go on the Internet and it will play most of the games they like to play. When their on it, either their father or I are normally playing real close attention to what they are looking at or playing. Well last night my daughter was on the Internet and I just happened to walk by and take a peek at what she was up to. She was looking at a site for Fenterdren. I don’t know if she just happened by this site by accident or if she’s trying to tell me something. I guess I’ll have to keep a closer eye on her in the future to see what sites she is stumbling upon.

Things could be looking up

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but if not here is a recap. My husband has been employed at his current place of employment for over 10 years now and lately he has become very dissatisfied with the job so he asked me to do up his resume and he has started looking for employment elsewhere. Well funny thing happened yesterday. While he was out and about buying some industrial knobs for his company he ran across an old friend who owns his own construction company. Well the friend offered him a job right on the spot. My husband didn’t say yes right away as it will mean taking a cut in pay, but he certainly is thinking about it. This is the third job opportunity he has been offered since he started looking so I’m thinking he may find something quite quickly. I’ll let you all know about his decision.

Techo challenged

Good lord, you would think at my age I would be pretty good with all the technologies out there wouldn’t you? But no, when it comes to technology I am as clueless as it gets. This past Christmas my husband bought me an mp3 player. I spent a great deal of time downloading songs into this machine only to find out that after 15 days of play the songs were no good any more. I tried to delete the songs and download more, but do you think I could figure it out?? Nope! Well I’m happy to report that I think I finally got this machine figured out. Yesterday I was able to delete all the old songs that wouldn’t play anymore and was able to upload some new ones. So maybe I’m not as techno challenged as I was before.

It’s not my night!!

Earlier today I was talking to one of my co-workers on the phone. She reminded me that Thanksgiving isn’t that far away. Three weeks actually. Then she started talking about what days she wanted off during the holiday season. Well our official day for Thanksgiving is on Monday and that is not one of my required days to work, so I’m not working it. I will be too busy looking up Thanksgiving recipes to be able to make a feast for my family. This year I will need to be feeding 16 people, so me working that day is not an option. I think everyone at our work should get a least one of the days off for the holidays and my day off will be Monday.

Some people will tell you that having access to a credit card can be a bad thing, but this is not always the case. When used properly, credit cards can be a great tool for increasing your credit score which will help you down the road to make the larger purchases that you require. But with so many credit cards available to consumers these days, picking just the right one can be a little confusing and overwhelming. It’s been a week

I honestly can’t believe how fast time flies. It’s already been a week since I went back to my old job. For those of you who don’t know, I work at a family restaurant for over six years and about a year and a half ago I had to quit due to babysitting issues. Well a couple of weeks ago my old boss called me up and asked me to come back. Still without a babysitter I told her it would be impossible to come back due to my husband’s hours of work. Well they agreed to work around him. So I said I would give it a go and come back. The few shifts that I have worked haven’t been that bad and my husband’s work schedule hasn’t affected it one little bit. So if things continue they way they have been, I think this working for a living will probably work out.

And the best thing: payday is next Thursday! Since I haven’t received a regular paycheck in well over a year, this is going to feel nice.

My little “drama queen”.

On Monday both of the kids got their school picture taken. And with the company that they go through they were able to get their proofs back on the same day. I have to say that I was highly impressed with both the kids pictures. My daughter on the other hand, was not! She got off the bus complaining loudly that she just absolutely hates her school picture. She was also demanding that I let her get retakes. As I explained to her, I am the one paying for it so it’s my choice whether to keep the pictures or not. And I have decided to keep them. Well that conversation set her off on another rampage. She’s only 10 but you’d swear she’s going on 16 sometimes. I honestly can’t wait until the day she comes home from school moaning about her acne problems. I can definitely say that raising a girl has a lot more drama to it then raising a boy. I can’t wait until I get her pictures back and hang them up. Oh…I can hear the complaining already.

Credit Card information

About four years ago I decided that what I really needed to do was to try to establish a good credit rating. At this time I didn’t have bad credit, I just didn’t have any credit at all. So the way in which I decided to do this was by applying for a couple of credit cards and try to build up my credit by using them and then paying them off. Well I’m happy to say that this plan of mine worked and now not only do I have credit, but I have excellent credit.

But, I have to tell you that when I first started looking at what cards to apply for, I was highly confused. There are so many cards available these days that trying to find the best one for me was confusing and stressful. I really wish I had of known about sites on the Internet like the mega credit site. I would have definitely taken full advantage of all their information that they so readily supply to consumers.

Not only are you able to determine what kind of card will work best for you and why, but they also list which cards are the best overall. You can browse cards using different criteria. You will be able to compare cards by their interest rates, what types of rewards you can get by using each card and also which cards are better for those who have less than perfect credit. Seriously, if I were to ever decide to apply for another credit card, this is one site where I would be spending a great deal of time at before I even applied.

Back to the violin

Well today is my daughter’s first day back practicing and playing the violin for school. Although she did practice a small amount this summer, she didn’t practice a whole lot so I am a little nervous to see how she makes out when the teacher tests her on her skills level. Because she enjoys playing the violin and is a fast learner, I really see no problem with her catching up if she is behind. But I hope she’s not far behind as this may discourage her. Oh well. Time will tell. Hopefully when she gets off the school bus today she will have some good news to tell. But if not, she’s really going to have to buckle down and start practicing. Where or where did I stick those earplugs. lol Just kidding. I love hearing her play even if it is with a squeaky note or two.
