Troubling news

Last week my husband had to go to the doctor to get a complete physical. He needed to have this physical to be able to renew his class one truck driving licence. Although he doesn’t drive truck, he likes to keep his licence up to date just in case he ever loses his job and needs to go to work driving truck.

Well we just got the call back about his test results. Apparently he needs to lose some weight. He is not seriously overweight but the excess weight that he is carrying is affecting his heart and his blood pressure levels. So he going to need to go on a very strict diet and get his hands on some of the top rated diet pills that are available. Once he has lost this weight, his health troubles should be over. So he needs to get started on this right away.

Time is running out

Well time is sure flying these days. In a little over a month my father in law is getting married and he is now starting to get nervous. It is a huge change for anyone to undertake, but this man is nearing 70 so this change is affecting him more than the average person. He has already made so many changes for this woman that his life has become somewhat of a roller coaster. He has put the home is lived in for over 30 years up for sale, bought a brand new mini home before he sold his old home and has been taking a bunch of weight loss pills to get trimmer by the big day. I can see the look of exhaustion in his face every time I see him so I will be extremely glad when his wedding day approaches and is gone. Maybe then he can get back to a normal existence.

Back to renovating

Well it’s official our trailer park has been sold. We still aren’t sure as to who it was sold to so we don’t know what kind of rules they will extend or enforce. I just hope their not too hard to deal with. So until we can decide whether or not they are going to be nice owner’s or not, our extension plans have been put on hold. We don’t want to build an extension on our home only to be told in a couple of months time that it has to be removed or that we have to move. So until then we will continue on with the renovations inside the home and wait for word when it is safe to build the extension.

Quiet night

I have been so busy for the past month or two that it seems like I can never find the time to just sit back, relax and do nothing. Although I had tons of stuff that I could be doing, last night I did just that. I turned off the computer and the phone and just sat down and watched TV all night with my husband. I never do that! But it felt great. I was able to recharge my batteries and am in a better frame of mind today.

One of the shows that we were watching was all about Brazil. I had never really thought about Brazil as being a hot family vacation spot. But apparently it is. And it’s actually quite cheap to go there as well. With the different types of Brazil vacation packages available, this destination could very well turn into a place where my family may go one day on vacation.

See what you learn when you take a night off.

His past has caught up with him

When my oldest son was 17 he got into a bit of trouble with the law. And instead of dealing with the situation he decided to run. So for the past two years he has had this hanging over his head and has been running from the law at every chance he gets. Well I can’t say I’m really surprised, but the law finally caught up with him. He now has to face the consequences of his actions. I have told him to hire a lawyer to help him through this difficult time. He doesn’t need to hire a Mesothelioma lawyer. It wasn’t that kind of trouble. Hopefully all he will get is some probation and possibly some community service. I can’t say that I’m thrilled he was caught, but I am glad that he is now finally dealing with this and now maybe he can get on with living life.

Money for school

I honestly don’t know how parents who have three or four children in school manage their money. I only have two that are in school and so far it has cost me a fortune to send them back to school with no end in site. Just before school started we had to go out and purchase them brand new clothes, and an entire scribbler page full of school supplies. Now your probably asking is this the end. Nope! It’s just the beginning.

Yesterday both kids came home from school requesting money. My son (who is the cheaper of the two) needs $23.00 in school fees. I wish I could say that this money will cover all expenses during the school year, but it won’t. They will continue to ask for more throughout the year. My daughter needs $35.00 in school fees AND $70.00 for her violin rental and violin lessons.

These prices wouldn’t be too bad, but the school expects this money in the next week. Well with no paycheck coming in this week, they are just going to have to wait for it. Hopefully by the time we get these fees paid off, they won’t be coming home from school requesting more money. But…I hate to say it. They probably will.

Looking for a new vehicle

It seems like once a year my husband gets on the kick of purchasing a new vehicle. Well I guess it’s that time. All weekend long he was driving around different car dealers to see what they have to offer. Currently he is looking at purchasing either a small truck or an SUV. I honestly don’t know why we would need a vehicle of this size but this is what he wants. I told him last night that we could always check out different truck rental companies if we ever needed to haul anything big. But he seems to think that having our own truck would make more sense. We will see I guess. If this vehicle purchasing process ends up the way that it normally does, he will look and look and look and then not end up buying anything anyway.

Still finding my way

As you all know about a year ago I starting setting up a home crafting business. I have set up a website and blog, I have done a lot of word of mouth advertising (free) and I have even tried selling my stuff on Etsy. Well I have to say that although I’m really not seeing the business that I would like to be, I have been doing a little bit of business. So to kick up my advertising efforts, I have been considering purchasing some promotional items. I have thought about purchasing some magnets, postcards and business cards. I realize that for any business to become a success you need to get the word out of your existence. And I really think that by using promotional items, I could get the word out much more quickly. And the more people that know about my business, possibly the more sales I could look forward to.

Thank you Entrecarders

Yesterday I did as post about how bad my Entrecard experience was for that day and for the days previous to it. Thankfully some of you Entrecard droppers heard my plea for help and left me a couple of great tips for maximizing my time at Entrecard. So, this morning I followed your advice and I just wanted to tell you that I had a lot better experience with my dropping efforts this morning. I was able to drop my cards as quickly as I wanted to and even was able to comment on a few blogs along the way as well.

There are two main reasons why I love the Entrecard system. The first being the huge amount of traffic that it drives to my blogs and the second would be because of the helpful and extremely nice people that are participating in this community. So…Thanks again guys! You saved my sanity!!

Painful Entrecard dropping today

For the past few days my Entrecard dropping has being going pretty slow but today has been the absolute worst. It has taken me forever to drop my cards on sites just from one of my blogs. I can’t imagine dropping from all of them. So I am asking for a little guidance here. This question is going out to all you Entrecard veterans. How do you do your drops? And how do you do them quickly.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to do them so quickly that I don’t stop and read blogs, but I would like to drop 300 cards a bit faster than I have been. So if you have any advice or guidance you don’t mind sharing, I would greatly appreciate it.
