Shhh it’s a secret!
I love this time of year! I can keep secrets from my husband and there is not a darn thing he can do about it. Well I have a huge secret right now and I’m just dyeing to share it with someone. So you guys will get to be in on my little secret. Well the secret is, I went out and purchased my husband a brand new pop up tv for Christmas. And because he’s so darn nosy I have it stored over at the neighbors. He is going to be so…surprised this upcoming Christmas. In 14 years I’ve never bought him something like this so that’s what makes this secret all the sweeter. So please don’t tell my secret to my husband and I’ll be sure to let you all know his reaction when he finally gets to open his gift this Christmas.

No more urges
After I gave birth to my youngest son I had my tubes tied to prevent having any more babies. Having him at the age of 32 was old enough for me and I knew I was finished. But…then I would see young mothers walking around with their babies, strollers and Ju Ju Be diaper bags and then those motherly urges would come running back. Well over the years the urges have lessened, but they were still there. Well I’m happy to report that those urges are now gone. Yesterday I seen a friend of mine (and yes we are the same age) walking with her infant daughter. Let me tell you that I did not envy her one little bit. So I am assuming that the urge to become a new mom once again has gone away. I’ll just wait for the grand babies thank you very much.

Smoking “pot”
I had an extremely interesting and highly entertaining conversation with my two young kids the other day. My daughter (who is in her last year of elementary school) was discussing her upcoming graduation from grade 5. When I informed her that they don’t have one, they just have a ceremony for the D.A.R.E program she was a little upset. Well then my son had to get in on the conversation. He wanted to know what D.A.R.E. stands for. Well it stands for Drug Awareness and Recreation Education. And how in this course they teach you not to do drugs and to stay away from them. Then my daughter proceeded to list off all the drug names that she was aware of. Well when she got to the word “pot” my son had a highly confused look on his face.
He wanted to know why people would smoke “a pot”. You know kitchen cooking pots. Well after I had finished laughing I then had to explain to him what type of pot my daughter was talking about. So I guess the good thing is, is that my son isn’t currently into any types of drugs as I haven’t noticed any burn marks lately on my kitchen cooking pots.

I’ve lost my bedroom
I have a big job ahead of me today. I need to clean out my bedroom. Honestly it seems like every time something comes into this house, it either gets thrown in my home office or in my bedroom. So today is the day I’ve decided to try to find my bedroom once again. And since I’m in there, I plan on cleaning out both dressers as well. I am planning on tossing away a few garments that we haven’t worn in quite a while. Don’t worry I don’t have any sexy swimwear in there that needs to be tossed. I only have one bathing suit (that’s never been worn) and it’s already packed away for the season. So if you don’t hear from me for a while, you know where I’m at. Lost in what I like to call a bedroom.

Building up a good credit score
When your trying to improve your credit score or credit rating applying for a credit card can be one way to go. But this can also be a little dangerous if your not the type of person who can use a little bit of self control while in control of these cards. But if you are the type of person that is able to manage you credit wisely, then this option can work out very nicely.
The first thing you need to do is find a site that can give you an unbiased opinion on which are the fair credit cards available on the market. By doing a little bit of research you will be able to determine which card will be best for you in your certain situation. You may be looking at a card that is the best credit card for women, one that offers a very low introductory rate, or even the best cash back credit card that would available to you.
Whatever your situation is, there is bound to be a credit card that is just right for you. By using this card and paying it off, you will then be able to build up your credit score. Then if you so desire, when the opportunity arises for you to make a bigger purchase, you will have the good credit score built up to back you up with your major purchase.

Delicate situation
My daughter now has a best friend. Only problem is is that her and her best friend insist on spending every waking hour together. At first I thought this was cute and was quite happy that she finally had someone around our park to chum out with. But now things are starting to get a little out of hand and I’m not really sure where to proceed with this.
This other girl shows up on the door step first thing every morning to walk with the kids to the bus stop. She is calling constantly for her to go to her place to play or for her to come here and is also begging for sleepovers. I have tried to explain to the girls that they can’t spend every day all day together. Especially on a school night. Now she has taken to start waiting for her at the bus stop until she gets home (my daughter comes home on a later bus). When she gets off the bus they are at me to let her go to her house. But I have told them both. Not on a school night.
Now for the tricky part. This girl just happens to be my husband’s bosses daughter. So when we tell the girl or our daughter no we are walking on very thin ice just waiting to see what will be said because we said “no”. But I have told my husband just because she is the bosses daughter we cannot relax the rules. I just hope that over time this situation straightens out itself.

Ten going on sixteen
My daughter came out with a very surprising question yesterday. She asked me how to get rid of acne. Now the reason why I was surprised with this question is because she’s only 10 and shouldn’t really be worrying about things like this just yet. I told her I had some cream in the bathroom she could use. So she went into the bathroom and got out the cream. She then proceeded to load her ONE pimple down with this cream. I really had to laugh. If ONE pimple is going to bother her this bad at her age, I shudder to think what is going to happen when she gets a little older and her entire face is covered with pimples. I guess I’m going to have to invest in more cream a whole lot sooner than I had planned.

I have to find my ear plugs!
It was bound to happen. I couldn’t put it off any longer. My daughter who is 10 went on her first sleepover last weekend. Now she did really well and I didn’t get any phone calls in the middle of the night, but…now she wants her friend to stay over this weekend. She has never had anyone sleep over before so this is quite an exciting time for her. And with excitement, comes noise. But I’m happy that she has finally found a friend where she is comfortable having sleep at her house and her sleep at the girl’s house so I guess I’ll just have to find the ear plugs and be happy that my daughter is turning into a little girl.
The big night is tomorrow night so I’ll be sure to let you all know how I make out with this.

Generous man
My husband is such a generous old soul. If he can help people out, he will. Last night our neighbor’s young son was telling my husband all about the troubles that he was having with his computer. Now this family doesn’t have a whole lot of money and would probably not replace this kid’s computer. So my husband (being the nice man that he is) gave this kid our old computer. Not only did he give him the monitor, hard drive, and keyboard, but he also gave him the steering wheel and scanner as well. The steering wheel and scanner won’t work with any of our laptops so he figured the kid may as well get some use out of it. Just to see the look on this kid’s face was well worth giving him all this stuff.
I’m just glad we were able to help him out.
