Economy not looking too good these days

I have been actively following the US economy struggles and I have to say that our Canadian economy isn’t fairing much better these days. With finances so uncertain these days, consumers are really starting to tighten up the wallets and are also looking at more affordable ways to manage their debts. If you have any amount of credit card debt, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Having access to the use of credit cards can be a blessing as well as a curse. It just all depends on how you manage them and what type of credit cards you choose to use. If you use credit cards like American express credit cards just for emergencies or to make purchases that you intend on paying off at the end of the month, then normally you would be able to manage your finances quite nicely. Also by choosing a credit card with a very low interest rate such at the Capital One Credit Card you will be able to pay off your credit cards debts faster which will save you a pile of money in the long run.

With so much uncertainty concerning the future of our economy as well as our on financial futures, choosing the right card with the best rates becomes all that much more important.

My car insurance went down again

I have only had my licence for about four years now. For the first couple of years my car insurance was quite high because I was classified as a new driver. Then it did go down a bit but because I got into a minor fender bender it shot back up again. I did look around at that time for some cheap auto insurance but couldn’t find any other place that was as cheap as mine. So I decided to stay with my company that I was with. Well I am happy to report that I was just notified that my car insurance has gone down quite a bit this year. Part of the reason why it went down is because I have been with this company so long. So I guess it was a good thing that I decided to stay with this company.

Long weekend straight ahead

This upcoming weekend is a long holiday weekend here in Canada. It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. So most people get Monday off as well. Well here in our school district it’s a really long weekend. The kids will be home Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They are home Monday because it’s Thanksgiving Monday and they will be home Tuesday and Wednesday as the teachers have district meetings during those two days. It’s a great break for the kids, but no so much for the parents. So now instead of having to put up with their excessive fighting for only two days, I get to put up with it for five. The good news is, is that I am working at least two of those days so I will get a little break from the fighting. All let you all know how I survived!

Kids and credit

One of the things that is not taught in school around here that I think should be would be the ins and outs concerning credit and credit cards. I have heard way to many horror stories concerning kids and credit that it really puts a scare into me. I have heard stories of kids in college or university that apply for numerous credit cards, use them and then can’t pay them back. A lot of students coming out of school have already managed to ruin their credit score before they ever graduate. But there is a solution to this ever growing problem.

The kids really need to take advantage of the Internet and go on sites that will tell them all about GOOD CREDIT CARD DEALS ONLINE and where they can find the Best credit offer for them. They really need to do the proper research on any and all credit cards so they can avoid the possibility of acquiring too much credit too quickly. The use of credit cards can be a good thing if managed wisely, but without the proper research and the proper use of the cards after they have applied for them, students especially can find themselves in a bit of trouble when it comes to their emerging credit scores.

It’s been almost a month

Almost a month ago I went back to work at my former place of employment. When I was there before I was an assistant manager but due to the limited amount of hours that I am able to work right now, this time I went back as a supervisor. I can’t believe how much has changed in the past year and a half. When I first started there seven years ago we had no such things as employment screening but now they do. I didn’t have to go through any of that when I went back but any new person coming into the company has to go through a lot of paperwork before they can even think about working there. I’m thankful that my transition went well and it’s been nice to receive a regular paycheck again.
