I have to tell you all that I’m pretty happy that the weekend is finally here. You all know what that means don’t ya?? Well if you don’t then I have no problem telling you. It means that I have only two days left to work in the kitchen at my job. On Sunday I will be returning out front for the first time in over a year and a half. I am so excited and I can’t wait! So…only two shifts left and then I’m going to be employed in the field that I prefer again. So wish me luck! I’ll be waiting on my first table on Sunday morning.

Well it’s official! In less than a weeks time I will no longer be the kitchen supervisor at my place of employment. I will be a waitress once again! I have only been back to work for a couple of months, but I have to tell you all that I was “this close” to leaving. I absolutely hated it and couldn’t see any way of getting myself out of that position but still be able to work there. Well I had a very nice discussion with my manager and informed her of how unhappy I was. And just so I wouldn’t quit, she offered me some shifts in the dining room. Well, let me tell you, I couldn’t be more pleased with this turn of events. Now all I have to do is to remember how to operate the barcode scanners and I’ll be all set. So…only two shifts to go and I will no longer be a supervisor. Just a waitress.

Well it’s been a very long….two weeks around here. First both of the kids got sick and then both my husband and I got sick and then…yes, both the kids got sick again. I was really starting to wonder if anyone in our house was going to be healthy again. But the worst seems to be over and everything has started to get back on track again. Both the kids are back in school, my husband is back to work, and I am able to wear my contact lenses again so am able to be back at my computer again full time. Honestly I wouldn’t wish what we all had even on my worst enemy. Hopefully these illnesses are far behind us and we can enjoy what’s left of the fall season.

The other day I was talking to a professional jewelry maker about some of the reasons why I am not having very good luck when trying to sell my handcrafted jewelry. One area of concern seems to be that I am not taking very good pictures of all the items that I have for sale. I think the reason for this is because I have a pretty crappy camera right now. So I’m thinking about investing a little bit of money into a Canon camera. I really do think that if I could take better pictures of my jewelry, I could probably have more sales. There are a few other things I’m going to try as well, but buying a new camera is definitely on my to do list. Who knows, maybe Santa may come through for me this year.

I have to say that this has probably been one of the longest weeks of my life. Between me being sick and both kids and now my husband being sick, this has been a very bad week. I haven’t hardly been on the computer at all. And that is just not me. I would check my e-mails every once and a while and then go off the computer to tend to the sickies. I think everyone is finally on the mend now and hopefully next week will turn out to be a better week. It certainly can’t be any worse.

My husband has a tendency to drive me crazy every once in a while. He will get on a discussion about something he’s thinking of doing and then in the next sentence he will talk himself out of it. This drives me absolutely nuts!! Why he can’t just make up his mind about doing something and then just do is is a concept I’ll never understand.
For months now he has been talking about putting an extension on our home. Then he tells me the different reasons why this can’t take place. I say: Either put up the extension, or don’t. Just make up my mind will you. Now he’s talking about installing some CAT5e products in the home. Will he?? Only time will tell. But I really do wish he would make up my mind in a lot of areas.

Well we’ve just been invited to another wedding. This means my husband (who hates to wear a tie and suit) is going to need to get dressed up once again. This is one wedding that we are definitely going to have to attend. It’s the wedding of my husband’s boss. So he kind of should be there. I don’t really mind attending weddings, but my husband just absolutely hates it. He hates having to put his bones into his suit and search for his silk ties. But he looks so good when he’s all dolled up. He is a mechanic by trade, so I don’t normally get to see him in a suit. So when someone gets married and he needs to put it on, I get pretty happy.

Well it’s the cold and flue season again and let me tell you all that it’s running quite nicely in my household these days. My youngest son has been home sick with a really bad cough for the past couple of days. Then this morning my daughter woke up with a sore throat and high fever so she is home from school as well. It seems like a never ending cycle in my house. It just seems like the kids pass these germs back and forth during the entire winter months. Hopefully they won’t both come down with pneumonia like they did last year. I really am starting to think that it’s going to be a very long winter.

As I was listening to the weather this morning I started thinking about the type of weather we are having this year compared to last year. Last year at this time we were all knee deep in snow with no relief in sight. Now this year so far all we have had is mild temperatures and a lot of rain. Now I’m not complaining one little bit mind you, but I am actually quite surprised with the difference. Although we don’t have any Plum trees or orange trees in our area, with the weather we have been having these types of trees could very well survive. But I’m going to enjoy this different weather while we have it because I know it won’t be too much longer before the snow will start flying. Then look out!
