Last minute shopping for books

Well with only two weeks left until Christmas eve, I have decided that I really need to get a move on purchasing the last of my Christmas presents. My youngest son is pretty much finished, but I still need to pick up a few more items for my daughter. Because she is such an avid reader, I have decided to try to purchase her some chapter books suitable for a 10 year old. I have checked in different stores around here and found the prices to be quite high so I have decided to browse the Internet and see if I can find some reasonably priced children’s books.

Well I’m happy to report that I have discovered a site where I have found a lot of books for sale. Not only do they have a wide variety of children’s books for sale, but you can find all kinds of other awesome books as well. All books are reasonably priced and if you join one of their clubs, you can even get better discounts. So not only have I been looking for children’s books for my children, but I have now found the site where I will be purchasing all my historical romance books as well.

Sickness again

I’m really starting to get annoyed here! About two weeks ago my entire family came down sick with the flue and other ailments. We all got better and got on with our normal routines. Well the sickness has come back! On Friday I was called to my daughter’s school to pick her up and on Friday and Saturday she was throwing up most of the day. On Saturday I woke up with a sore throat and haven’t been able to talk since. Then this morning my little fellow woke up with a fever and a sore stomach so he is home sick today. Will it never end?? We all start to get better and then this thing comes back to bite us all again. Hopefully this round of sickness will be our last until at least after the holidays!

Less than three weeks until…

That’s right folks…less than three weeks away until the big guy arrives. Are you all ready for his arrival or are you all like me and starting to scramble at the last minute?? Well I still don’t have all my shopping or wrapping done. I have no Christmas baking even started and I still have a ton of cleaning to do. Oh well I guess what will get done gets done and what doesn’t doesn’t. I refuse to stress myself over the holidays anymore. I guess the one good thing is, is that if I don’t get any of my baking done, then my family won’t have to worry about taking any fat burners now will they?! Just kidding. I’m sure I’ll get most of what I need to do done. It’s just that time is slowly getting away from me these days.

Teenagers playing with fire

The other day I dropped into my neighbors house to borrow a staple gun. While I was there they showed me their carpet and their wall where their two teenage sons had burnt holes in. They explained that the two boys tried to start the wood stove while the parents were at work and darn near burnt the house down. While they were telling me their story, they were laughing. I personally wouldn’t have been laughing quite so hard if I were them considering the fact that they don’t have any home owner insurance and would have lost everything had their home burnt down. I thought the kids were pretty lucky that they didn’t live at my house. As there would have been no laughter here!
