A week at home

Just when I thought I was going to be able to enjoy a little quiet time at home, my husband goes and takes a week off for vacation. Although he is an adult and SHOULD be able to amuse himself, this is not the case. It’s only been three days since he’s been home, but I’ve already started looking into different types of vacation rentals that would enable me to get away for a while. Just kidding. But seriously, I will be so glad when this week is over and he is back at work. Come Monday morning I will finally be able to have a day of piece and quiet. If only I can last until then.

Busy weekend

Since I went back to work and now only work weekends, my weekends are pretty busy. I am only supposed to work the 8:30 am to 2:00 pm shift, but for some reason my boss has decided to put me on until 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm every weekend. It’s not a real big deal, but it does cut into my family time and my time spent working on the computer. So..this is why you don’t see me around too much on the weekends. Real life gets in the way and online life kind of takes a back seat.

Back at facebook

I really do amuse myself sometimes. About a year ago I joined Facebook and was quite active in it for a while. Then I did what I normally do and kind of got away from it. Well after talking to my brother over the holidays, I discovered that both my nieces and my nephew were all on it and if I wanted to keep up with their day to day lives, then I was going to have to go back in to it. Well I’ve been spending pretty much all my time in this program for the past couple of days. I’ve reconnected with both my nieces and my nephew and a couple other people as well. One of my nieces has two kids (and is fighting with her ex to go for a paternity test), my nephew just recently got married and has two kids of his own and my youngest niece is getting married and having a baby as well.

After spending a couple of days in Facebook, I really have to wonder why I left it in the first place. But now that I’ve reconnected with some family members I can’t see me leaving again any time soon.

Hopefully no more car troubles

So as you all know, a couple of weeks I took my car into our local Canadian Tire for it’s annual inspection and it failed. I was really surprised at this as I just put a pile of money in it last year and hardly drove the car at all. But…the work needed to be done otherwise they would have never passed my car. Well my husband was able to buy all the parts at cost (he’s a mechanic) and able to put three of the parts on. But he was unable to put two other parts on so I will have to take it to another shop to get fixed. That will happen tomorrow. Then Wednesday morning I have an appointment to take my car back to Canadian Tire. At this time they will only inspect the parts that had to be replaced and hopefully pass them. So after Wednesday I should be driving legally again. Fingers crossed!
