Archive for March, 2009
Have you ever heard the saying, in like a lion and out like a lamb in regards to March. Well that didn’t happen this year. This year March came in like a lion and went out like a lion. This morning we woke up to snow covered roads and icy roads as well. Well, certainly not a great way to end the month. But, the good news is, is that tomorrow is April first, so we know spring is officially on it’s way. Man I hate winter!

The birds are singing, the sun is shining and the temperatures are really quite mild. So one of the things that i really needed to do was to air out my area rugs. I just love the smell of them when I bring in from outside and I love the way they make the house smell once they are once again placed on the floor. This is why I love spring so much. I love the smell of spring and when I can bring it in from outdoors, well, all the better. Yay! Goodbye winter!

I have been doing a lot of product reviews on a different blog for my local grocery store. Most of the items have been Febreeze and Mr. Clean products. Well, yesterday they sent me some more cleaning products. Well we can all use cleaning supplies now can’t we? the good thing about these reviews is that I get to keep all the products they send me. I just hope they don’t send me some incontinence supplies as I really don’t think I could do an effective review of these types of things. But, as long as they keep sending me cleaning supplies, I’ll keep taking them.

I really wish I had an exit sign in my home office. I have spent the better part of three days in here and I’m really starting to wish that I could escape for a little while. Oh well, I guess the good thing is, is that I have to go to work tomorrow and Sunday so I guess I will make my escape then. If I didn’t have to work this weekend, I would probably keep myself locked away in this room all weekend, so I guess it’s a good thing that I need to leave the house.

Wow! You can sure tell that the school year is winding it’s way down. In the next couple of months my daughter has three violin performances and has one play to finish in drama. Then, she will be having here D.A.R.E. program which marks the end of the year for grade 5. And she brought home the paper to order the year books, so that’s how you can tell it’s getting close. Well I can’t believe that these kids have been in school for seven months. Not too much longer and they will be home on summer vacation and then look out next year. My little girl goes up to junior high. Man, where does the time go??

As I stated in my earlier post, I have just gotten into the transcription field. Just the general transcription mind you, not medical or legal. But when I get faster, I may branch out in the medical or general field. Who knows I may get so good at this, that I may try my luck at enrolling in some medical coding training courses and try my luck at this. But, at this point I really do need to increase my speed before I decide to jump into something else. But, at this point it’s just great to have the option.

Well I finally did it. I started my home transcription career and let me tell you folks that it is so…not as easy as it sounds. Yesterday spent seven hours typing dictation and today I spent nine. I have the biggest brain ache imaginable and my eyes are seriously crossing. I was so busy concentrating on my typing, that I even ignored my phone today when my insurance agent called to give me a life insurance quote. I was pretty discouraged last night, but after seeing that I could type of bigger file in less time, I’m willing to stick it out for a little while longer. So if you don’t see me posting in here a great deal, you now know why.

Well you sure can tell that the economic times around here are getting pretty bad. There are a lot of houses on the market these days that are going for way below their market value. I honestly think that people are just looking for ways to get from out under a huge mortgage. And by what I have been seeing online, the US isn’t fairing much better. I seen an ad on the Internet last night for different listings in the Wilmington NC real estate area and I have to tell you that I was quite shocked to see how little houses are going for these days. It would be great for people who have a little extra money for investments, but since it’s tight all the way around, I really have to wonder if these houses will sell even at extremely low prices. Hopefully for all of us, the economy will pick up and will pick up soon.

Well I have to tell you all that I am so…not impressed! This morning I woke up to a driveway full of snow once again. Well, this is almost the end of March and we should NOT being seeing snow like this now. Isn’t it supposed to be spring?? I really have to wonder when winter is going to end! Oh well, it’s bound to end sometime. It’s just that it gets a little depressing to sit here and look out the window to see this snow once again. The good thing is, is that it was not a snow day for the kids so that in itself is a positive. I just wish that winter would fly away once and for all.

In this very trying times in our lives, we are all on the lookout on how to save some money. Whether it be saving money on food costs, coming up with a new life insurance lead or saving money on fuel, we are always on the lookout for some great deals. My husband and I have been pretty lucky these days to get some great deals and we have been able to cut our spending back quite a bit each month. Now, if I could only find some extra work to do from home to earn a little extra income, then maybe I wouldn’t be so worried about the way our economy is these days.
