And That’s….the Truth

After a very long drawn out winter, spring has finally made an appearance!

I don’t know if winter seemed a lot longer this year because of the massive amounts of snow that we received, or if it’s because I’m getting older and can’t tolerate this type of weather very much any more. But whatever the reason, spring has finally arrived and I for one couldn’t be happier. Yes, I do realize that we probably still going to get a bit of snow, but anything that falls now won’t stay.

Well, now that spring has finally arrived all I have to do is wait for summer!

Wow, I was trying to remember the last time that I had the house to myself. And you know, it’s been well over two weeks. Two weeks ago the kids were home on March break and then last week my husband was home on a week’s holidays. So, it’s been quite a while since I have been home alone and have been able to do everything that I normally do. So, I have a lot to get done this week. But being in the house by myself, I’m pretty sure that I can get it all done.

I am very pleased! This year my husband and I are both getting a tax refund. He is getting a lot more than I am, but that’s OK. I really don’t care what I am getting back, as long as I didn’t have to have to pay in. Well, we should be getting our money in about 4 to 6 weeks, and we already have plans for it. With my tax refund, I plan on purchasing a transcription foot pedal. It is the last piece of equipment I need to get started in the transcription field. With my husband’s refund, he plans on purchasing a new laptop with a KVM switch. He has also been talking about getting the kids each a new bike. So, this year everyone will get something that they want.

Finally! It’s the end of what turned out to be a very long week! The kids were home on March break this week, and all I have to say about the matter is that I’m thanking GOD that it’s over. The weather this week was pretty crappy so we had to stay inside all week and all the kids did was fight all week long. Honest I’m not exaggerating! That is why I’m so glad it’s Friday. Tomorrow and Sunday I have to work, so I do get a small break from them. Then Monday they are back on that school bus. I will be one happy momma come Monday morning.

Well we didn’t do a whole lot this weekend. We really had no choice. My daughter and my husband were both sick with the flue. He had it last week and ended up staying home for a couple of days. Saturday my daughter started feeling bad and by the end of the night she was pretty sick. She (and my husband) were sick all day yesterday and she still isn’t very good today (well at least she has finally stopped throwing up). My husband went back to work today but she is home anyway due to March break. I really hope this is the end of the sickness in our house. But, if not, then my son and I get to look forward to it next.

So, as you can see, because of the illnesses flying about, we were pretty much stuck in the house all weekend.
