I really think that over the past few years I have been living in the dark ages. We have a new camcorder and DVD player and for the life of me, I really can’t figure out how to use these things. I thought I was doing pretty good there for awhile when I figured out how to use the Mp3 players that my daughter and I got for Christmas one year. But it seems that as soon as I get something figured out, they go and change it and make it harder to use. It’s a really good thing that my husband is around to figure out all these machines for me, or I really would be living in the dark ages.

Well it’s down to the wire. There is only three weeks left and then the kids will be out of school. The school has a lot of fun activities planned for the kids so they are really looking forward to their final days of school. They both have a sports day coming up, my daughter has her grade 5 graduation, my son is learning to make rubber stamps in his art class, and both of the kids will be participating in their family fun day. They both have put in a long year of learning and now it’s time for them to have a little fun. I’m sure they will enjoy their last three weeks of school and then they get the entire summer to recuperate.

With the end of the school year not too far in sight, I have been doing a lot of thinking about grading presents. I really haven’t made up my mind on what type of present that I will end up buying the children. My son is pretty easy to buy for. All I would need to buy him is a PS3 game and he would be happy, but my daughter is a little more difficult to buy for. But, since they both did so well this year, I really do want to find something special for them. I still have a couple of weeks to come up with something, so I’m not panicking quite yet.

Well after another year of a lot of practicing and learning, my daughter’s violin class is all set to give her final strings performance tomorrow night. It should be a pretty good performance, as there will be over 100 kids playing at different skills levels. And just a few days ago, I was informed that my daughter will be doing a solo during this concert. She is pretty excited about this and has been practicing extra just to make sure that she gets it right. So, I’ll be sure to let you all know how well the final performance goes.

Well today is finally Friday! And it’s supposed to be a gorgeous weekend! We are expecting highs in the upper 20’s with lots of sunshine to go around. And since I don’t work weekends any longer, I’m going to get to enjoy this weekend to the fullest. We haven’t made any concrete plans yet. We don’t know if we will be taking the kids camping. Or we may just stay home and do some of the yard work that so desperately needs to get done. My husband brought home a couple of pressure washers from work and has plans for him and my youngest son to do some pretty heavy cleaning in the near future. But, whatever we end up doing, I’m sure we will have a whole lot of fun this weekend.
I hope you all have a super weekend!

Well it’s now Tuesday morning with the kids sitting on the school bus. I would like to report that I did actually survive this long weekend. The kids and my husband were all home for the last four days. On Thursday I was thinking that it would be a very long weekend as the kids tend to fight quite a bit and I figured I would be in for a lot of this. But, this didn’t happen. So now that the kids and my husband are out of the house, I can get back to my normal routines. I have a lot of blogging to do (yes, I may even discuss effective diet pills), a lot of articles to write for a company and the normal amount of housework that any wife and mother has to do. But now that I have the house to myself again, I’m quite confident that I will get it all done.

Well here we go again. It’s finally Friday and it’s once again time for a very long weekend for the children. They are home from school today due to teacher’s meetings. Then they are off for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday. So, it will be a very long weekend for these kids. Hopefully I’ll survive the weekend and all the fighting. I’m not sure though, it’s only 8:00 am Friday morning and the fighting has already started. So, I guess we will have to wait and see.

So guys. How was your Mother’s day?? Mine was great! Although I did have to work the breakfast shift yesterday morning, all in all it was a great mother’s day. The kids really did try to be good. LOL We had a special supper and spent a quiet afternoon and evening together. And I heard from my oldest son as well. So, all in all it was a pretty good day. Hopefully yours was as well.

Wow, it’s been a rough month around here lately. I really haven’t been able to get much accomplished as I’ve been working quite a few hours for my boss. But things seem to be coming to a head now. On Monday my boss will be returning back to work so I won’t be working quite so much. Then after next week my shifts will be changing at work and I won’t be working quite so much for me anymore either. So hopefully I will be around more in the very near future. Man I hate when things change and I don’t get to keep a normal routine.

My youngest son really misses his older brother. Almost two years ago my oldest son moved away and hasn’t been home since. My daughter does miss her brother, but my youngest son is constantly asking me when he’s coming home to visit. Well last week he sent him an e-mail and asked him when was he coming home for a visit. My oldest son e-mailed him back and told him it would be sometime this summer. Then he also answered his other questions as to whether or not he has gotten married, has a girlfriend or needs to send out any birth announcements. Some of the things kids will think of, will amuse you. But now the kid is happy. His older brother is coming home for a visit and he is now counting the days.
