And That’s….the Truth

Yesterday we incurred an expense that we really hadn’t counted on. No, we didn’t have to purchase a new Toto toilet or anything like that, but we did have to purchase my son a new bike. The reason for this purchase?? The neighbors ran over his other bike. It was totally destroyed. The frame was bent so it couldn’t be fixed. Yes, my son shouldn’t have left it where he did, but… the neighbors didn’t even apologize!!! Can you imagine running over a nine year olds bike and not even saying sorry to him or us? Oh well, he now has a bike once again and I’m pretty sure he’ll be a lot more careful on where he puts it. But since he’s only 9, who knows….

Well both of the children brought home their report cards this week. My daughter’s report was very, very good. But, I have to say I was quite disappointed in my son’s. Not only did most of his marks go down, but he also has been having trouble with his behavior as well. Hopefully he can pick these things up. I would think that gift ideas for mother’s day could be a good report from this child. So he’s got a little over a month to pick up the pace and then I think I’ll have to think of something major to get him back on track.

Well I guess I spoke too soon. Over the past week I have been doing a lot of transcription from home. These files that I have been working on took me an entire week to finish. But I did finish them and kind of thought I would be done for awhile. Well you can imagine my surprise when my company contacted me this morning and asked if I could do some more transcription work that includes a lot of life insurance quotes this weekend. I really didn’t want to say yes, as it is a holiday weekend, but since it’s money, I really couldn’t turn them down. So… you guessed it, I will be tied to my computer once again this weekend.

Now with the end of March firmly behind us, and the start of April knocking at our doors, I just discovered this, it’s going to be a very expensive month. This month is Easter so that means extra shopping for the children, and… all my expenses for my car are due as well. I need to licence my car, pay my car insurance (I’m going to look on the computer so find a cheaper auto insurance quote then what I’ve been paying), and my car needs to be inspected. Yes, I am really happy that April is here, but man… I wish it wasn’t going to cost me so much.
