Enjoying some “me” time

With both kids in school now I am enjoying a lot more “me” time. I have been able to get so much accomplished that it really has amazed me. Matter of fact, earlier today I went to the grocery store and didn’t spend half of what I normally do. It would amaze you on how much money a person can save if they don’t have children with them. So now with school fully in session, I can see that I’m going to be a lot more relaxed and I’m certainly going to enjoy all the “me” time that I can get.

Never too early

Although it’s only September, it really isn’t too early to think about Christmas now is it? Now that we’ve got the kids back to school and all that extra shopping done, it’s time once again to put on our thinking caps for personalized gifts for the family for Christmas. Every year it gets more difficult to buy for my father in law and his wife and this year is no exception. So I would like to find them something different this year. I have a couple of months to think up great ideas so I’m not panicking yet. But I know the time is drawing near.

A lot of happy parents today

Today is the first day of school for the children in our area. And if all the other parents around here are as happy about this as I am, then there is going to be a lot of happy parents around today. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my children dearly. But after having them home for 70 days it really was time for them to go back. My daughter was quite happy to go off to school this morning, but my son not so much. He will be fine once he gets there and I’m sure he’ll have lots of stories to tell me when he gets off his bus.

Cooler temps today

Finally!! After five days of brutal heat (and no this is not an exaggeration) the temps in our area are a bit cooler. Right now we are at 23 degrees where as for the past five days at this time of the day we were well in to our 30′s. So today I might actually be able to get some stuff done here in the house. Now don’t get me wrong, I love summer. But after this past week, I am sure looking forward to the fall.

Too hot to breathe

For the past few days we have been in the middle of an extreme hot wave. And because we live in a mobile home our home is completely unbearable to live in. For the past couple of days my children have been holed up in my room with my fan watching blu ray videos. This is the only way that they can stay cool. We are all tired and cranky and life here just isn’t that much fun right now. Hopefully this heat wave ends soon and we can all get back to normal life.
