The “mud” boy

Yesterday was a beautiful spring day in our area (about time).  The sun was shining, the birds were singing and it was plus 10 out.  I think spring has finally arrived!  Yeah!!

So because it was such a gorgeous day, my husband decided to take out the four wheeler.  When he asked my youngest son if he would like to go for a ride, he jumped at the chance.  When they left the yard, there was a seven year old little boy sitting on the back of the bike with a smile as big as the earth.  When they arrived back in the yard, my son was transformed into the “mud” boy. lol  After peeling off the layers, I did find Daniel underneath all the mud.  Although this created a little bit of extra work for me, the smile that was and still is plastered all over his face was totally worth it.

You couldn’t wipe the smile off his face

This has been a very long winter for not only myself but for my kids as well.  Because of all the snowstorms and bad weather that we have been experiencing, the kids haven’t been able to get out of the house much to play.  So this means that my little fellow hasn’t been able to go out on his father’s four wheeler at all this season and that has been a major disappointment for him.

Well on Sunday it was a pretty decent day so my husband took my son out for a drive on the four wheeler.  They were gone for over an hour and my young son even got to do some of the driving.  When he got home you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face and it’s still plastered there.  He really loves going out on the bike, and now with spring almost here (fingers crossed), hopefully he will get out more often.

If your heavily into boxing like my husband and brothers are, then your really going to want to grab your tickets of a lifetime. Word on the street has it that their is going to be a major rematch coming up between two of the hottest boxers of this day and age. This would be the rematch between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather. For all you boxing fans, I’m sure you know who these two boxers are and you also realize that this will probably be the fight of a life time. And since fight is scheduled for September, then I’m sure your going to want to get your hands on your De La Hoya/Mayweather tickets as soon as possible.

Well, the tickets that your dying to possess can be purchased from www.teamonetickets.com. They have all the tickets that you could possibly want, and by ordering early, you will be assured of getting the very best seats in the house. Because this fight is rumored to be one of the best to come around in a very long time, the sooner you drop by this site for your tickets, the better it will be for you and any sports fan that you may want to take with you.

Going to see his daughter

My father in law has decided that he would like to go visit his daughter and grand kids this summer. He mentioned it to my husband and I because he needs someone to look after his dog while he is away. Because he is nearing 70 and his health isn’t the very best, I mentioned to him that he should really get some extra travel health insurance for his trip. Although he does have medicare coverage anywhere in Canada, some of his medical expenses that he may incur while traveling away may not be covered under her provinces medicare plans. So along with passports, and making different types of arrangements, this is something else that he really needs to take care of before he heads out.

Going out for supper

My sister-in-law invited us out to supper to celebrate her and her husband’s upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. It sounded like a fun time and they have picked one of the newer restaurants to go to so we told them we would go. She jokingly said that if she continues to eat like she did 25 years ago when they were first married, she might need to buy some weight loss pills. This is why she picked this particular restaurant. It caters to the health conscious consumers. She’s not overweight by any means and I really didn’t understand the joke, but if it gets me out of the house without the kids for a little while, then I’m game.

Their going away!

Yeah!!  Both of the kids are going to a sleep over tonight.  They have both agreed to go to their grandfather’s for the night.  And if your wondering if this is a huge deal, yes it is!  My daughter is 9 and has only been away over night once (when she was 8 months old) and my son who is seven has NEVER slept away from home.  So yes, this is a HUGE step for both of them.  He wanted them to stay the night this past Sunday but neither one would because they didn’t have any of their stuff.  So you can bet that I’m going to make sure to pack everything they could ever need in life to ensure that they enjoy their sleep over and then they may possibly do this again.

If everything goes right, their grandfather will pick them up shortly before supper and then when my husband gets home from work, we will be able to go out to dinner.  Oh man, I almost forget what it’s like to have dinner out without two little people fidgeting around.  And then for the first time in nine years I’m going to get an excellent night’s sleep without worrying about whether one or two kids will be getting up in the middle of the night.

But, if things go like they normally do in my life I can expect a phone call that one or both of them will want to come home and I’ll be driving down the road at midnight to pick them up.  Oh well, wish me luck and I’ll be sure to let you all know how Grampie and the kids make out on their little adventure.

Retirement party

Although I don’t work at any job right now, I was just recently invited to a retirement party for one of the ladies that I used to work with at my old job. This woman is in her early 60’s and is definitely looking forward to a new chapter in her life. So to celebrate this milestone, I have decided to purchase her a Teaposy Blooming Tea Set. Not only does this type of gift make for a very unique gift, but it’s a super gift to give anyone who has everything.

One of the things that I love about this site where I will purchase this very unique gift is their wonderful inventory of great gift ideas. They have such a wide variety of gifts listed on their site, that I am positive that anyone would be able to find a unique gift for any person in their life. And because all their prices are extremely reasonable, any one can afford to utilize this site.

Elton John coming to town??

Well this is the latest rumor that is going around our area.  The rumor being that Elton John is coming to our fair city sometime in the summer.  IF this rumor is true, you can bet that I’m going to part with my hard earned dollars and be one of the first ones to get some tickets.  I don’t normally get too excited when I hear of a performer coming to our area, but come on now this is ELTON JOHN.  I don’t normally purchase tickets and would rather just buy the albums and stay home, but if in fact this is true, this is definitely one exception I am going to make.  And…I even have my husband talked into going.  This is a major feat all in itself, as he never wants to go anywhere.

So I just sit back and listen to the radio for any more updates and when I hear for a fact that this man is coming, I will be hauling out the credit card.  This will definitely be a once in a life time deal and I seriously would be kicking myself until my final days on earth if I did not take advantage of this unique situation.

Can you tell I’m a HUGE fan??!

He loves his grand kids

Yesterday we went to dinner at my father in law’s.  Yes, it stopped snowing and we were able to attend.  Well after dinner my father in law informed the kids that he bought a new game for the computer.  The game he bought was Sponge Bob Square Pants.  So obviously this game was not for him.  He is so cute.  He is always looking for little things to buy the kids and it makes them so happy when he does these small little things for him.

So he set up the game for them to play and then he sat down and played the game with them.  It is so sweet to watch him with the kids and I know that they get just as much enjoyment out of this as they do.  Since  my husband’s mother passed away in September, his father has been pretty lonely and spending time with the kids is one of the ways that he uses to help him to not be so lonely.  So they left their game at his house so the next time they go down to visit him, they will be able to play with him again.

Their home for nine days!

When my daughter gets off the school bus today, it will officially be the start of the kid’s March break. That means nine whole days of having them home and underfoot. Their actually not real bad kids, it’s just that they get bored and start fighting a lot. And because it’s so cold outside, I can’t even send them outside to play. It’s weeks like this that I really wish I could afford to rent a room in one of the hotels in Vegas. A vacation of this type would certainly give them something to do. But because were poor and my husband has to work, we will be staying home. Hopefully I can plan enough activities to keep them so busy that they forget to fight.
