Never too early

Although it’s only September, it really isn’t too early to think about Christmas now is it? Now that we’ve got the kids back to school and all that extra shopping done, it’s time once again to put on our thinking caps for personalized gifts for the family for Christmas. Every year it gets more difficult to buy for my father in law and his wife and this year is no exception. So I would like to find them something different this year. I have a couple of months to think up great ideas so I’m not panicking yet. But I know the time is drawing near.

It’s our anniversary

Nine years ago today my husband and I said “I do”. Where does the time go? First things first, I’d like to wish my husband a very happy wedding anniversary!

Later tonight the kids and him and I (no sitter) will be headed out for a small dinner celebration. I did do a little green shopping and bought him something pretty cool so I will present that to him tonight at our supper. Then after the kids go to bed I guess we will toast our happy day with a bit of wine.

So it’s going to be a great day and lots of fun. Happy anniversary to us!

Quiet weekend hopefully

Today is Friday so of course it got me to thinking about weekend plans. Since my young fellow and my husband are both sick, I expect that this will be a very quite weekend. We don’t have any real plans and I think we should probably just spend a quite weekend inside the house so these two can get better. I do have to do some research on whole life insurance quotes but other than that I’m really hoping we can just sit back and relax. I think we all need it.

Quiet weendend planned

Well so far so good. This weekend is actually looking up to be a pretty good weekend. I don’t have a whole lot work that needs to be done this weekend so I think I will actually get to spend most of it with the family. The only real plans that we have, is that we are going to the annual RV show this weekend. We normally go every year. It’s fun to look at all the different RV’s and campers. We can’t afford to buy and RV’s mind you, but we usually have a good time none the less. And the only other thing I really need to do this weekend is shop around for some new life insurance. Other than that, it looks like it is going to be a nice, relaxing weekend for all.

Just about done

I went out earlier this morning with one of my friends Christmas shopping. I am happy to report that I’m just about done!! One more present for my husband and I will be finished. I need to head into town to purchase him a gift card so he can buy the Custom flash drive that he wants and then I’m done. I still have a lot of wrapping, cleaning and cooking to do, but at least the shopping itself is done. I am so far ahead of schedule now that I’m actually starting to get excited about Christmas. Now all I have to do is finish the other stuff and then I can just sit back and relax.

Sick kids

Well my kids have gotten the flue. So far I think it’s only the normal flue, but you can bet that I’m keeping a real close eye on this situation. Over the weekend my daughter was so sick that really none of us got any sleep. Can you imagine the dark eye circles that we all have right now. Well she has started to come out of it and now my youngest son seems to be coming down with something. Hopefully his sickness turns out to be minor. And…. hopefully my husband or I don’t get it at all. I work in the service industry so if I get sick I can’t work so I lose quite a bit of money. Hopefully this will all blow over in a day or two and everyone will be right as rain once again.

Possibly pregnant

No, not me. These days I worry about wrinkle cream and hair dye, not baby powder and baby wipes. But, my neighbor who is a year older than me seems to think that she may be pregnant. If she is, I am happy for her. But man…. am I ever glad it isn’t me. She isn’t really upset about all this as she does have a three year old at home, so she still has quite a young family. I would be devastated. My baby is nine and I couldn’t imagine having another one at this point in my life. But, if she is pregnant I know this baby would get all the love and attention that it would need.

Staying safe

My husband’s job is a very dangerous job. He is the senior mechanic for his job and he works on a lot of really big equipment. Some of the equipment that he fixes and maintains are scissor lifts, booms, and forklifts. So he has to be extremely careful while he is working. It is his company’s policy that he wears safety vests, safety glasses, a hard hat and steel toed boots. Because of his dangerous job, I am constantly worried about him every day all day. I really don’t breathe a sigh of relief until I hear that truck pull up in the driveway. Some days I really wish he would find another job, but since he is happy with where he is at, I don’t relay my fears to him.

Possibly out of work

Last week while my husband was home on vacation quite a bit of “stuff” went down at his place of employment. His manager was let go and the rest of the staff was informed that the head office would be looking at everything that has been going on at this particular branch. Well that got a lot of the guys just a bit nervous. Some of them have been looking elsewhere for employment and one of the guys even applied for a job motorhome towing. My husband isn’t worried as he is quite confident that he has been doing his job. But you just never know what to expect this days so I have told him that he should probably keep his eyes and ears open. I hope he doesn’t loose his job, but time will tell in these matters.
