Methane gas detectors are a very important part of my life

Because I live in an older home that was built years ago near a couple of gas stations, I have found that having methane gas detectors is very important for the health of my family. Honestly you don’t know what you and your family are breathing in and how it’s affecting all your health until you do a little research. And then, you understand why it’s so important to have this type of equipment on hand. If there is any type of leak near your property these detectors will let you know of any potential danger that your family may be exposed to. These is a very essential product to have access to and it could save the life of your family members.

He went for tests

So my husband hasn’t been feeling that well for the past month now.  He has been up to the out patients twice now and both times sent home with test scheduled.  The first set of tests he as unable to attend as he got called into work, but this morning he did go for the second set that were scheduled.

The thing is, my husband never goes to the doctor’s.  So for him to go, plus go for the tests, he must be in a lot more pain than he is letting on.  So, now it’s a wait and see game.  It can take up to two weeks for his family doctor to get the results so we will have to wait this out.  But at least he went and now hopefully we can find out what is wrong and get it fixed.

Working out is not for me

Last night I went to the gym to have a little workout. A friend of mine got me a free pass at their gym for a week so I figured that I would at least go down and see what it is all about. They have so much equipment that it’s a little overwelming for a person like me who doesn’t know the difference between a stepper and ellipticals. But I did try a few pieces of the machinery. I walked out of the gym with one thought. And that thought was that I can’t see myself ever going back there. I just didn’t enjoy the atmosphere and I think I would get a better workout from home. So I guess I’ll keep moving towards my own home gym.

He is starting to worry me

If you all knew my husband, you would understand my concern.  He absolutely refuses to go to the doctor’s.  Honesty his foot could be half off and he wouldn’t step foot inside of  doctor’s office.  And getting him to go to the outpatience at the hospital is darn near impossible.   So, this is why I am so worried.

For the past three weeks he has been suffering from serious stomach troubles.  And yes, I have been bugging him to either go to the doctor’s or the hospital to get checked out.  And of course he has refused.  Well this morning when he woke me up, he informed me that last night, late in the night, he went to the hospital.  He couldn’t stand the pain any longer.  So this is why I’m so worried.  If he will go to the hospital on his own, then he is definitely in pain.

We still don’t know what is the matter with him as the hospital wants to run a series of tests and he is in so much pain that he has agreed to go.  This must be quite serious or at least he thinks it is or he wouldn’t have went up.  So I guess it’s a wait and see game now, but I’m glad that he went.  It’s better to find out what’s going on and fix it than live in constant pain.

I’m getting so….old

Over the past couple of days I have discovered that I’m starting to get old. When I was trying to thread some beads while trying to create jewelry, I discovered that I couldn’t see the little holes any more. Even when I put on my glasses. I really think I’m going to need to invest in a magnifier. I didn’t notice this problem last week so I am kind of wondering why it came about all of a sudden. Oh well, I guess I’m going to just have to go see my eye doctor and see about getting a new prescription. Hopefully I will only need a new prescription, and this is not a sign of worse things to come.

The boy in the ice box is sick!

In a previous post, I mentioned that my youngest son has a seriously bad habit of turning his heat OFF at night.  Therefore, when he wakes up in the morning his room is like an ice box.  I also stated that I wouldn’t be really surprised if he ended up sick because of this.  And…guess what?!  He did!!  Today he is home from school because he is sick!  He was up all night coughing so I couldn’t possibly send him to school today with having no sleep.  And because he got no sleep last night, neither did I.  So today I am tired and cranky and he is sick and cranky.  It’s not a good day to be around either one of us.  Hopefully he will have learned his lesson in all this and he will be more agreeable to keeping his heat on in the future.

His room is like an ice box!!

This morning when my husband went in to my youngest son’s room to wake him up for school he was greeted by an icy cold room.  Apparently sometime during the night, Daniel was hot so he decided to turn his heat completely OFF.  Now this normally wouldn’t have been a real big deal except the weather last night was one of the coldest nights that we have had this winter.  It was -19 with a wind chill factor of -38!  Now that’s way….to cold not to have any heat on in any room of the house.  So, of course when my son got up, he was coughing quite a bit.  I would not be surprised if he ended up sick because of this.  Other than constantly checking on him to make sure that he doesn’t touch his thermostat again, I have no idea how we are going to be able to convince him to keep his heat turned up.

If anyone here has any suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

Still sick!!

I honestly thought my daughter was getting better so I sent her to school yesterday.  Big mistake!!  She did OK during the day, but after school during her violin practice she got sicker again.  When I went to get her at the school she informed me that both her and her father tried to call me to come pick her up but there was no answer.  There was no answer because I was already on my way to get her.  So, I have decided to keep her home from school for at least today and tomorrow.  Tomorrow night she goes back to the doctor so I guess we will see if she is getting any better than from last week.  I honestly have never seen somebody have such a hard time getting over phenomena and I do feel really bad for her.  Hopefully he will be able to tell me what is going on with her and we will be able to get her back on the road to recovery.

Off to the doctor’s

Over the past weekend and the last couple of days, my youngest son has not been feeling the best.  He has been coughing quite constantly without really bringing anything up.  The thing with doctor’s around here is that they won’t do a thing for a cough unless it settles into your chest.  Well, I’m pretty sure that the cough has settled there as now when he coughs he is throwing up.  So, it’s off to the doctor’s this afternoon for him.  The one good thing about our family doctor is that I don’t usually call them unless it’s an absolute emergency, so when I do call they know it’s important and they get me right in.  That is what happened today.  I called and they told me to bring him down later this afternoon.  So hopefully soon, he will get some medicine and then be on the road to recovery.
