And That’s….the Truth

I have decided that I’m sick and tired of all this clutter and thought it was about time that I did something about it. So yesterday I started clearing out the house. I have started in my craft room and if it’s not craft supplies and not anything I’ve used in the past year, it got chucked. Now due to all my hard work you can actually see my craft room! So now that I’ve got into the cleaning fever I have decided that the bathroom will be next. Again if the products haven’t been used in over a year, they will be going. Hopefully if I can do one room a day I’ll have all this clutter gone and won’t mind living here so much. If not, at least I’ll have a clean and clutter free house.

As I sit here looking around my house I have discovered that I really do need a bigger one. Right now sitting in my living room is a kids drum set, a bb gun and other kid’s toys. These things should not be in my living room, but in a family room or play room. But right now since we are pretty much filled to the rafters, these things have to stay where they are at. My youngest son would love to learn how to play his drums or his guitar, but because of lack of space, he really doesn’t get to play with these things too often. One of these days we will either get a bigger house or less stuff. But at this point I guess I’ll just have to sit back and put up with the clutter.

I have decided that the only way that I’m going to get my craft/office room back for myself is if I clean out the other closets in the house and put all my husband’s junk in them. So earlier yesterday morning I started clearing out some of these closets. I guess it’s been a while since I did this as I found some old maternity dresses in one of the closets and I have worn them in over 10 years. So I guess it really was time. So I’m going to finish cleaning out the closets this weekend so I can start to re-arrange my room early next week. I wonder what other treasures I will find?!

Yay! The kids went back to school today. It was a long… two weeks having them home but today they are both back in school. So… I’ve got a lot of work to do today. Having them home, I wasn’t able to get much work done around the house and man, can you ever tell. So today I plan on thoroughly cleaning the living room and putting up the art prints that I bought a couple of weeks ago. And if I get this done, I am then going to start working on the kids rooms. So, I have a lot of work to do but I’m not complaining. Not having any home during the day makes all this extra cleaning worth while.

I’m really starting to dislike this time of year. It just seems like there is never enough time in my day to get things done. And with having two kids home sick from school for the past couple of days it really does seem like I’m taking a few steps back. Today I plan on cleaning out the home office. I have some old equipment that I need to get rid of like my Velo Bind and a printer and then I’m going to try to get it organized once again. This is a job that I’ve put off for quite a while but today is the day that I need to get it done.

So with 13 hours of having no hydro when my husband went to take a shower last night, he kind of couldn’t. We have no hot water! Because of the power outage, our burners blew up. So in a few minutes I need to run down to the bedroom and clean it up so he can get in there to replace the two burners. I have no idea where I’m going to put all the Christmas presents as they are situated right beside the water heater. Oh well, at least tonight we will have hot water.

So now that winter is almost here there are a few things that my husband and I have to have done before the season if firmly upon us. We need to have our whole house water filters inspected, our furnace cleaned out and to put away everything that is out in our yard. I’m not a big fan of cleaning and clearing but this stuff has to be done. Now to write my to do list for my husband and we’ll be all set.

Tonight my husband and I have two appointments to see a couple of houses. I am so excited!! Out of the two one of them really stands out as the place I want to buy. But I want out of this trailer park so bad that I would actually consider buying either. Hopefully we go see the houses, see something that we like and are able to put a bid on it. I want a house so bad. Maybe it’s time I’ll get one.

Later this afternoon we have a community meeting in our trailer park. We will be discussing our displeasure on the new rules and regulations that the new park owners are trying to enforce and we will be trying to figure out a way to have all of this drama stopped. Some of the news media plan on attending as well as our local MLA. Since there will be cameras there, I really wish I had invested in some eye wrinkle creams as I do look a little sad these days. But since I’ve been one of the vocal ones in this park already, I really do need to attend.

I know the title of this post must sound kind of funny. But… after having so much warm weather, it really is nice to have a rainy day every once in a while. Because it’s raining outside today I have no choice but to stay in the house so I’m hoping I will be able to get quite a bit of work done. I plan on re-arranging the tv stands in the kid’s bedrooms, cleaning out my home office and getting some work done on the computer. So for these reasons, I am quite pleased that it is currently raining outside.
