I’m going to have to do something

It’s been almost a year since I quit my full time job to become a stay at home and boy do my savings accounts ever reflect that. I’m going to have to do something drastic here if my accounts don’t start to fatten up again. I have never been this broke and I know it’s because of the loss of income plus loss of tips. My husband is not concerned about this sitauation at all, but I am and I think soon, I’m going to have to do something about it.

Setting up the home office

As you all know, I am now a work at home mom. Because I spend so much time online and have a lot of business/office equipment, my husband gave me our spare room for my home office. I pretty much have everything in the office that I want, but I would really love to have a couple of leather office chairs in the room as well. I just think it would look more professional and I know it would definitely be more comfortable than what I am currently using. But, everything does take time and it won’t be much longer when I have the entire office set up the way I want it.

We’ve been house hunting

Finally! Spring is almost here. And, what that means for me is it’s almost time to put our mobile home on the market and start our house hunting adventures. We have already started looking online at different houses and their prices in the areas where we would like to live. If it’s at all possible, we are going to try to find a home that is near our children’s current school so they will not have to change schools when we finally do make our move.

But with house hunting, also comes Mortgage hunting as well. When we bought our current home, we bought it as a rent to own so we never did have a mortgage on the property. So when we do buy our house we are going to need to get a mortgage. So I have been doing a little digging on mortgages, interest rates, and repayment structures. So far I’ve been very pleased with the information that I have uncovered. When the time comes to buy that house, I want to have my mortgage already approved so that once I discover the perfect home, I will just be able to go in and say I want it. So for right now we are doing a little house hunting off the Internet, but when we get our pre-approved mortgage, we will then start looking at actual homes that we have a hope of purchasing.

In like a lion…Out like a lamb

Have you guys ever heard of this saying?  If March goes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb and vice versa?  Well if this saying is true, then we are going to have a very nice end to March.  For the past two days we have been hit with a massive snow storm.  We were only supposed to get 10cm of snow yesterday and another 10 today, but yesterday I’m pretty sure we got the 20cm all together.  And, it’s still snowing today and has been all morning.

So, if this saying holds true then the end of March should be warm and sunny with not a snowflake in site.  If my memory serves me correctly from past years, I think this does really work.  So I’m looking forward to the end of March for my nice weather to finally arrive.

Spring cleaning

I’m going to start my spring cleaning next week. I know it’s not spring yet, but since I have a little extra time in my life, I’ve decided to get a head start on it. The first room I have decided to tackle is the living room. It is so cluttered full of stuff that I really need to get things organized in there so it looks like a living room again. I have discovered that I really need to purchase some audio racks to clean things up a bit. I have Cd’s and Dvd’s laying all over the place and I really need to find places to put all these items. When I finally have this mess cleaned up, I am going to tackle my husband’s computer stand next. He’s not going to like me very much for going through all his stuff, but…oh well. It needs to be done.

We’re purchasing new furniture

Now that we have made the huge leap of purchasing our brand new couch, I’m getting the purchasing fever again. I would love to have new furniture in the bedrooms and maybe a new dining room set as well. I think it would be extremely cool if I could find some unique environmentally friendly furniture to furnish my home with.

This is why I was very excited to come across this online store where I would be able to purchase this exact type of furniture. Purchasing this type and quality of product is not only good for the environment, but it sends a very good message to my children. Through this site I have discovered that I can make these purchases directly from the site and very reasonable rates. They will ship any and all purchases directly to my home. Their helpful staff makes any purchasing matters as easy as if you were standing in a department store. So, when I have finally talked my husband into parting with his hard earned money, I’m going to go on a little shopping spree via this site.

Methane gas detectors are a very important part of my life

Because I live in an older home that was built years ago near a couple of gas stations, I have found that having methane gas detectors is very important for the health of my family. Honestly you don’t know what you and your family are breathing in and how it’s affecting all your health until you do a little research. And then, you understand why it’s so important to have this type of equipment on hand. If there is any type of leak near your property these detectors will let you know of any potential danger that your family may be exposed to. These is a very essential product to have access to and it could save the life of your family members.

When I retire

I’m really hoping that when I retire (yes, I do plan on going back to work at some point), I will be able to afford a second home that could be used as a summer home. I would love to have a separate place where it’s warmer for the entire family to be able to get together during the summer months. I realize that when kids get older they usually go their own separate ways, and I think having a second home would encourage them to stay closer to one another and their parents. Right now this is just a pipe dream, but you never know what the future may hold and maybe this dream just may come true.

Oh my, What a mess!

I knew it was coming, but I didn’t really realize what kind of mess I would be facing when this work started to happen.  Yes, I am talking about my home office.  Finally after months of bothering my husband, we are putting down the hardwood floors in my home office.  For the past couple of months I have been able to work in there, but I have to tell you that the room looks really bad with just boards sitting on the floor.  Well all that is going to change today.  I’m going to have pretty hardwood floors in my room now.  Maybe now I will feel comfortable leaving the door open and will want visitors to see my home work space.

So because this event is FINALLY going to take place, I will not complain about the mess that I have to clean up and I will be cleaning up this mess with a smile plastered on my face.

I’m still learning

Although I’ve been quite active on the Internet for the past couple of years, I am still learning all the ins and outs of the Internet and computer world. This is why it would be quite helpful for me to utilize the services of an IT consulting company. By employing these services, I could get all the help and direction I need right from my home. This company would come directly to my home and help me with any problems that I may be experiencing right in front of my eyes. This way if some of the same similar problems arise, I would have already watched them to see how I could fix it. Although I am only one person working from home, I can see how a company like this would be a major asset to any business as well.
