And That’s….the Truth

My two kids love to play on the computer. When I got my new laptop last February I gave them my old one to play on. It’s not a very fast computer and doesn’t have a whole lot of memory in it, but it will go on the Internet and it will play most of the games they like to play. When their on it, either their father or I are normally playing real close attention to what they are looking at or playing. Well last night my daughter was on the Internet and I just happened to walk by and take a peek at what she was up to. She was looking at a site for Fenterdren. I don’t know if she just happened by this site by accident or if she’s trying to tell me something. I guess I’ll have to keep a closer eye on her in the future to see what sites she is stumbling upon.

Good lord, you would think at my age I would be pretty good with all the technologies out there wouldn’t you? But no, when it comes to technology I am as clueless as it gets. This past Christmas my husband bought me an mp3 player. I spent a great deal of time downloading songs into this machine only to find out that after 15 days of play the songs were no good any more. I tried to delete the songs and download more, but do you think I could figure it out?? Nope! Well I’m happy to report that I think I finally got this machine figured out. Yesterday I was able to delete all the old songs that wouldn’t play anymore and was able to upload some new ones. So maybe I’m not as techno challenged as I was before.

For the past few days my Entrecard dropping has being going pretty slow but today has been the absolute worst. It has taken me forever to drop my cards on sites just from one of my blogs. I can’t imagine dropping from all of them. So I am asking for a little guidance here. This question is going out to all you Entrecard veterans. How do you do your drops? And how do you do them quickly.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to do them so quickly that I don’t stop and read blogs, but I would like to drop 300 cards a bit faster than I have been. So if you have any advice or guidance you don’t mind sharing, I would greatly appreciate it.

I can’t believe that August is behind us and we are now into September. But we are so….you all know what that means right? For the past couple of years now I have been doing a lot of working from home on my computer. Any money I make from working from home adds to our household income and I can honestly say I don’t know where we would be without it. Well I have been doing good with a couple of paid to blog sites so I thought I would try my hand at some freelance article writing. I figured that since I can write blog posts then I could probably write articles as well. Well between yesterday and today I have signed up with a couple of people to write some articles for them. I have written a few and have already been paid for my work. So I guess as long as these opportunities hold up I will continue to do both. Both of these activities keep me pretty busy so for now I will not be searching for any more online activities.

So another month has passed. Wow I can’t believe that it’s August already. Well for all you Entrecard droppers you know what that means. That means I am doing this post as my way of saying thank you for your continued visits and drops. Each and every month I try to do a post like this to thank my 10 droppers. So if your on this list, then a great big thank you goes out to each and everyone of you. And I hope to see you all back here next month.

As you all know, this computer that I now have is not that old. But man does it ever run slow. It has a dual processor in it and I’m pretty sure that it should be operating faster than it does. I have tried everything to get it to run faster. I have deleted a bunch of stuff and have also cleared the cache and cookies. But nothing seems to help. I’m seriously thinking about taking it somewhere to get a complete system memory upgrade. But I am wondering if this would help or if this would just be a waste of my money. I don’t know a whole lot about computers and their workings, but I do know one thing. If I can’t get this machine to work any faster I may end up doing something drastic.

Now that it’s July 1st, it’s time for me to do my monthly post of thanking my top Entrecard droppers for the past month. I’m having a much better day today on the Internet than I had yesterday.  For the better part of seven hours yesterday I was unable to access any of my sites.  I wasn’t able to do any posts or reply to any comments.  After contacting my server provider, I was informed that the site was down due to maintenance.  Normally this wouldn’t bother me as I realize that all sites need maintenance at some point in time, but what did bother me was the fact that the company didn’t bother to inform me that this was taking place.  Communication is the key to keeping happy customers and because of the poor communication yesterday, I was not a happy customer.  But since I’m able to post this today, I am once again a happy customer.  I just hope this type of thing doesn’t happen again for a very long time to come.

Today we are going to be able to go on our first camping trip of the season. Finally the weather is going to co-operate with us and it’s suppose to be sunny all weekend. So I probably won’t be online much this weekend as I won’t be able to take my laptop with me. I am planning to take my computer with me on upcoming trips, I just need to get a memory stick for it first. But since I’ve been on the Internet constantly for the past few months, I think the break from my computer may be a good thing. It would be nice to have something to do after the kids go to bed, but I’ll just have to find something else to do with my time.
