Where Not to Go to Buy a Diamond

Where Not to Go to Buy a Diamond

You may have heard that it is safe to buy at top diamond buying websites like Abazias.com. However, you may end up being lured to buy a diamond elsewhere and end up getting scammed. Even if you know how to tell a real diamond from a fake one, there are some simulated diamonds that take more than a newspaper test to verify a natural and genuine diamond. You might think that shopping at a diamond district might snag you a better deal, but it can also end up being a fraud. You should avoid places like flea markets, diamond districts, and shady diamond buying websites online.

Diamond District

If you are a jeweler buying diamonds in the diamond district, you probably will be doing it behind closed doors. Yet, many people think they can get a good deal for a diamond by buying from street vendors as long as they are in the diamond district of a town. This is not a good idea as you cannot ascertain the quality of the diamond and by the time you do, the vendor is long gone. Always pick a vendor that has an establishment that has been around for a while, either online or off.

Flea Markets

Sure, you could get lucky and score a vintage diamond ring that someone is trying to sell to raise some cash. On the other hand, you could also pay a lot for a crystal or piece of glass being passed off as a diamond. Scammers have gotten so sophisticated, they may go to the trouble of selling a high-quality fake, but a fake is still a fake and you’ll end paying much more than it’s worth. Don’t fall for the appraiser nearby either, as often these scam artists work in tandem.

Shady Websites

There are websites online that are selling simulated diamonds under their brand names, but insinuating they are real. The public is well informed that a cubic zirconia is not a genuine diamond, but other names like simulated, moissanite, or some brand names can fool a buyer into thinking they have a natural, genuine diamond. Even the term blue-white diamond reveals a genuine diamond, but it is usually one of lower quality – a fact most of the general public is not aware of. Avoid websites that are not trying to inform their consumer, merely sell to them.

Refund is coming

Well it shouldn’t be too much longer before our income tax refund will arrive. I just checked the website to see if my husband and I’s taxes were looked at yet, and they were! So… it shouldn’t be that much longer before we will both have some extra cash on hand. I would love to purchase a custom laptop with my money, but I don’t think I’m going to get enough back to do that. So I guess I will purchase a freezer with my money. I don’t know what my husband plans on spending his on, but maybe he’ll buy me something nice.

The start of March break

Well today is the official start of the kid’s March break from school. It’s not even 10 am in the morning and my youngest son is driving me crazy all ready. I really do think that it’s going to be a very long week. I know I’m not going to get much computer work done this week as it’s really too hard to concentrate on anything with a child around who insists on making as much noise as possible. I think maybe the only thing I’m going to get accomplished is trying to find some patterns to make military rings and other jewelry like that. Other than that, I don’t think a lot is going to get accomplished. Oh well, next week is coming.

In a rut

Yeah, I know I probably have the winter blues. It seems like every day I do the same old boring thing and I’m really getting tired of it. I dread getting up in the mornings knowing that I have to face a long dreary winter day. If I could get my craft room cleaned out and organized then maybe I could continue on making my crafts and the days wouldn’t seem to long. So to get myself out of this rut, I’m going to try to find my craft room. Maybe then I won’t feel like I’m in a rut so bad and might actually start to look forward to my days once again.

Major snowstorm

Well yesterday we got hit with another massive snowstorm. You should all see what my outside looks like. Now normally I would complain about all this snow but this time I am not. The reason why I didn’t mind all this snow was because to have all this snow it had to warm up. And since it was so cold outside for the past week I welcomed the warmer temps and the snow. But… now I have to go out and shovel. Oh well, it beats cleaning my bathroom and pedestal sinks so I guess I won’t complain too much about the snow. Maybe when I’m done I’ll stay out and enjoy a little of this weather. I’ve got to enjoy the warmer temps while I have them.

Nice, quiet, relaxing day

After having the family home for most of last week, today I am enjoying a nice quiet relaxing day. Both kids are in school and my husband is back to work which leaves me with a very quiet house. I have a bit of housework to finish up and some computer work to get done, but other than that, I have the day to myself. I haven’t had one of these kinds of days in a long time so I am going to enjoy this day to it’s fullest.

Once again it’s Monday

Sometimes I dread when Monday morning arrives. And… today is one of those days. Although I am happy it’s Monday because that means that the kids and my husband are once again out of the house and I can get a lot of things like using my best acne treatment and stuff like that, but it also means that I have to clean up the mess they all made on the weekend. Well this weekend they all made a huge mess and I get to clean it all. So since it’s Monday I get to clean all day. Oh what fun. This is why I dread Monday mornings.

Not much happening this weekend

Well I guess it’s going to be kind of a quiet weekend this weekend. My husband is currently at work and tomorrow I have to go to work. So I guess we won’t be doing too much of anything this weekend. I think we will be stuck inside most of the weekend as it is pretty cold outside today and spending any amount of time outside doesn’t sound like a good thing. Oh well I guess a quiet weekend every now and then can be a good thing.

Snow day

Well today is the first snow day for the kids this year. Yesterday we ended up getting a pretty big snow storm with tons and tons of snow dumped on us. So both kids are home from school today as the roads around here really weren’t safe enough for them to go to school. So later this afternoon the children and I will be out shoveling. I’ll have to be careful and not hurt myself again like last time or I’ll really have to contact an Offshore Injury company to help me out. So… I guess we’ll be outside for most of the day. If you have nothing to do today, why not join us??

Busy few days

Well I can see that the next few days are going to be busy ones. Not only do I need to finish up all my Christmas stuff, but my day to day life is going to be busy as well. Tonight and Thursday I have to work, tomorrow my son goes skating and I have a bit of work I’m trying to finish up online before the holidays officially begin. So have a great rest of your week and I’ll talk to you all soon.
