Wow… what a weekend!

Although I didn’t have to work outside of my home this weekend, that didn’t keep me from working all weekend. I spent four straight days on my computer typing. I’m not kidding. I barely even took a break to eat. Well let me tell you all, that this will not happen again! I don’t know how I’m going to prevent this from happening, but somehow I’ve got to make this working at home work a bit better for me. But the typing is now done (for this time) so today I plan on taking some time off from my computer and getting down to doing housework. It never ends now does it?

Long day…

It has been such a long day! I just spent nine hours typing. Yeah. I’m not kidding. And I’m no where near finished my work. I have so much typing to do that I started to get a little overwhelmed. I really do have to wonder if I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to keep plowing through all this work and hopefully by the end of the weekend, I will see a light at the end of the tunnel. I actually forgot to even eat today. If I keep up this pace, I sure won’t need to invest in any weight loss supplements now will I?? Well anyway, if you don’t see me around for a few day, I think you can figure out what I will be up to.

Writing job update

So I just received all my information regarding this new writing job that I had applied for. Well let me tell you that I am just super excited. I read over all the information and was really pleased to see that I could pick the topics on which I want to write about. This means that I don’t have to write on phentermine diet pill or anything like that if I don’t want to. The pay isn’t that much to start out, but after you’ve been there a while and have proven yourself, you have the opportunity to increase you pay. After a few days of writing for this company, I’ll be sure to let you all know how this all works out.

Working from home

Right now I have a lot of irons in the fire. Although I do have an outside job, I also do a lot of work from home as well. Currently I do some paid blogging, I do some general transcription, and I have just started getting back into paid article writing. Yesterday I applied at a company, did their test and got accepted as a paid writer, blogger for their company. I still don’t know very much about the job, but I’m excited to get started none the less. I don’t think it will be too difficult of a job. I would imagine that all I will have to do is to do a little bit of research and I will be able to write on things like nutrisystem reviews or steel buildings or whatever…. Anyway, I’m loving working from home and absolutely can’t wait to get started with this company.

No more weekends

This past weekend was my final weekend of working at my outside job. I have been getting a bit tired of working every weekend and decided that it was time for a change. The only hard part about this, was the fact that I had to tell all my regular customers my decision. One man actually asked me if I was cutting back my hours because I was pregnant. Oh… god forbid!! I’m too old to be worry about prenatal vitamins, bottles or diapers. No… the only reason why I am giving them up is because I needed the change. Pregnant at 42?? No, I don’t think so.

Nice bonus

Last week I got a nice surprise from my outside job. I have been employed there for 10 years and my employers decided to give me something pretty nice, to show they appreciate all the work I’ve done over the past ten years. They gave me a gift certificate for iphone accessories and I couldn’t be more pleased. Very surprised, but very pleased. It’s pretty nice that after 10 years they have shown me that they do appreciate all my hard work. Things like this, just wants to make me work a little bit harder. So a great surprise!

Refocusing

A few months ago I decided to try my hand at transcription. I really did enjoy the type of work I was doing and made some pretty decent cash with it. Well, real life got in the way and I kind of let that type of work slide. Well I have decided to get back in to it. Over the past couple of days I have applied for a couple of jobs and just received an e-mail this morning that a company would like me to test for them. I’m pretty pumped about that. So I have decided to dust off all my office furniture and get back into it. I’m just waiting for the test file to come through my e-mail. Hopefully I do fine and begin transcribing once again.

New job

Well after being out on his own for the past couple of years and holding down some pretty crappy jobs, my oldest son has finally found a job that he absolutely loves! He will be in charge of all the cad drawings at his office. He has been looking for something like this for well over two years and finally found a company that was willing to take a chance on him. Since it took him this long to find this type of employment, I’m sure he will do his best and will stay with this company for a very long time to come.

A Saturday off!

For the past few weeks I have been once again working every Saturday and Sunday. Well… I am NOT working tomorrow. My husband was supposed to have a first aid course this weekend so I asked for the weekend off. Well as it turned out, his course was postponed but I already had Saturday off, so I’m keeping it. I have so many plans of what I want to get accomplished on this day. I really need to find some cheap insurance online, help my youngest son with a pretty big social studies project and help my husband put in a new window in my son’s room. Doesn’t really sound like I’m taking the day off now does it?? But at least all this can be done with me staying put at home.

Staying safe

My husband’s job is a very dangerous job. He is the senior mechanic for his job and he works on a lot of really big equipment. Some of the equipment that he fixes and maintains are scissor lifts, booms, and forklifts. So he has to be extremely careful while he is working. It is his company’s policy that he wears safety vests, safety glasses, a hard hat and steel toed boots. Because of his dangerous job, I am constantly worried about him every day all day. I really don’t breathe a sigh of relief until I hear that truck pull up in the driveway. Some days I really wish he would find another job, but since he is happy with where he is at, I don’t relay my fears to him.
