And That’s….the Truth

For the past couple of months I have HATED going into work. And honestly hated is a serious understatement. There has been a lot of drama at work surrounding a particular employee and I had had it. Matter of fact, I had done up my resume and had actually applied for a couple of jobs. But everything came to a head yesterday. I ended up calling my manager over something and we really got into it. I was able to let her know exactly what was on my mind lately and she actually listened. I *think* things might get better there. So I’m going to sit back and see where this thing takes me. If things improve, I’ll stop looking for a new job. If not, well I’ll continue to look for a way to get out of there. I’ll keep you posted.

Well since one of my favorite games on facebook is down I guess I should really get some work done. I have to do some research on where to find inexpensive maternity clothes and have a massive amount of housework that really should be done as well. And since I can’t play my game I guess this is the kick in the pants I needed to do other work. I’m really hoping it’s back up sometime this afternoon, but until then I guess I’ll get some work done. When my husband gets home maybe the house will be clean and supper will be ready. He’ll be surprised and will probably be able to figure out that my game was down so I decided to do something else for a change.

Well I’ve got to tell you all that after being employed at the same restaurant for over 11 years I never thought this day would come. And this day would be the day that I would have to possibly start looking for a new job. Man… I’m just too old to start over. My place of employment is starting to get a lot of competition in our area and business has slowed down to pretty much a crawl. So I think it’s just a matter of time that I could be forced to look for something new. It’s times like this that I really wish I was qualified to work in some Network Engineer Jobs so I wouldn’t have to worry about job security. But… it is what it is and I’ll just have to sit back and see if I will in fact have to start looking for a new job.

Well this definitely wasn’t the way I wanted to leave my job. Because a new restaurant opened up in town our business has really slowed down. So my manager has started cutting shifts and I think my shifts might be the next to go. I’m not really concerned as I only work about 10-12 hours a week anyway and I do have 11 years of experience but it’s frightening still the same. Oh, I know I don’t have to worry about collections agencies any time soon but it is a little nerve racking wondering if I’m still going to have a job in the near future. But it is what it is and I can’t change it so I guess I’ll just keep going in for my shifts and worry about the cuts when they do take place.

Wow, it’s been a crazy few days around here lately. I was having serious computer troubles and wasn’t really able to be online very much and then towards the end of the last week, my computer finally died and I was unable to bring it back to life. So that meant that I was unable to do any of the assignments on Medicare part D plans that I had waiting for me. Also I was not able to play my games on my computer that helps me to relax after a long day with the kids. But… I am happy to report that I have a brand new computer now and am able to do work as well as have a little play time as well. So… all is right with my world once again.

For the past week I have been experiencing some pretty serious back pain. Last night I went to the doctor and was told that I have some damaged tendons, muscles and ligaments in my back. No wonder I’ve been in so much pain! So he gave me some pretty powerful medication and told me I am out of work for a week. If things don’t improve I have to go back and can possibly lose more time. Oh well, it can’t be helped I guess. It’s just going to make for a very small paycheck the next time payday comes around.

Some days I really wish that all I had to purchase for uniforms for work is nursing scrubs. It would probably be cheaper than what I have to pay for at my work. Yesterday I picked up my pay check and discovered that I had lost almost half of my wages due to paying for summer uniforms. This means that I only wear this uniform for the summer and then in the fall I need to purchase more. Why does it have to cost so much for a person to go to work these days? Oh well, if I want to work there I guess I have to fork out this money. I just wish I didn’t have to.

My husband the kids have been home all week on vacation and today is my first official day of vacation so not a lot of work has been getting done around here. I haven’t been on the computer very much, not even to write up some articles on ATV Lights and barely any of my housework has been done either. But we are certainly having fun spending time as a family. So for now I won’t worry about all this work and just enjoy my time off. Work time will come soon enough.

After being sick for over a week I have had a lot of work to catch up on. And another bad thing was that I kind of forgot that the children don’t have school this Friday so I have one less day to get all my work done. So I’ve really got to get my butt in gear tomorrow to try to finish up all my work. I really hate deadlines and feeling like I’m behind, but this time it really wasn’t my fault. It wasn’t the fact that I didn’t do the work, it was the fact that I couldn’t do the work. But now that I’m feeling much better I think I will get a lot done tonight and tomorrow.

As most of you are aware I normally try not to work on my computer on the weekends. Generally I like to have all my work done so I can spend the weekend with the family. Well it didn’t quite work out that way this weekend. Because of my husband being home for a week and me not getting much done last week I really do have to play catch up this weekend. I have a few accutane reviews to complete for a company and a huge transcription project that is due for Monday. So although I really don’t want to, I am working on the computer this weekend.
