Working from home

Right now I have a lot of irons in the fire. Although I do have an outside job, I also do a lot of work from home as well. Currently I do some paid blogging, I do some general transcription, and I have just started getting back into paid article writing. Yesterday I applied at a company, did their test and got accepted as a paid writer, blogger for their company. I still don’t know very much about the job, but I’m excited to get started none the less. I don’t think it will be too difficult of a job. I would imagine that all I will have to do is to do a little bit of research and I will be able to write on things like nutrisystem reviews or steel buildings or whatever…. Anyway, I’m loving working from home and absolutely can’t wait to get started with this company.

Not a snow day

Haha, the kids had school this morning! The weatherman was way…. off on his prediction and we never got anywhere near the amount of snow that he was calling for. Man…. was my youngest son mad. He was looking forward to a day of watching the Olympics and playing video games. Me… I was extremely pleased that the weatherman was wrong. This meant I was able to get all my computer work done and even had a bit of time to browse the Internet in search of anti wrinkle serums (old age is creeping up don’t ya know). I am very pleased the weatherman was wrong, the kids not so much.

We’re in for a big one

Yeah, I realize that we’re still in the middle of winter, but I really, really wish summer would arrive. The weatherman is predicting a massive snowfall tonight. So this means a lot more shoveling and just crappy weather. And to top it off, it’s supposed to go on through tomorrow so the kids probably won’t have any school this day either. Have I mentioned lately that I absolutely hate winter?! Oh well, hopefully we don’t get too much and we will be able to dig ourselves out quite quickly.

So many projects

Although I haven’t been in a formal school setting for over 14 years, I have to tell you all that I’m starting to get pretty tired of all the homework. My son (who I need to help) has homework every night and my daughter who is in grade 6 always has at least one project on the go. It is because of these projects that I’m getting tired of homework. Although I don’t have to help her too much with them (I probably would have to if they were on a diet pill that works), I have to constantly yap at her to get her to work on them. Then she gives me attitude and the fighting begins. I honestly can’t wait until the kids March break. Maybe then I’ll get a little break from the homework.

No more weekends

This past weekend was my final weekend of working at my outside job. I have been getting a bit tired of working every weekend and decided that it was time for a change. The only hard part about this, was the fact that I had to tell all my regular customers my decision. One man actually asked me if I was cutting back my hours because I was pregnant. Oh… god forbid!! I’m too old to be worry about prenatal vitamins, bottles or diapers. No… the only reason why I am giving them up is because I needed the change. Pregnant at 42?? No, I don’t think so.

Spring like weather

Since the weather has been so nice, I really have been tempted to dig out the outdoor cushions and all my other outside patio furniture. It’s actually good I didn’t as when I woke up this morning I was once again faced with a blanket of snow. But, over the weekend I was awfully tempting. We only have about a month left of winter, so I think I can wait. But with all the nice weather we’ve been having lately, it has really got me in the mood to head outdoors.

Finally warming up

Finally after two bitterly cold weeks, it looks like things are warming up! Right now it looks like the temperatures will warm up past the freezing mark all week. This is excellent news. Yes, we are supposed to get a little bit of snow. But, if I had my choice (which normally I don’t), I would take the snow over the cold any day. So hopefully the weatherman is accurate and we will be a little bit warmer in our little corner of the world for a while.

Teaching her a lesson

For over a year now our daughter has been bugging us to purchase her a cell phone. Well after months of discussions, her father and I decided to look at some prepaid cell phones for her. We found one that we liked, that was pretty reasonably priced and got her one for Christmas. Well… she was so happy. With the phone she got, she got free minutes. We told her that when the minutes were gone, we would not rush out and purchase her a new phone card right away.

Well she blew through all her minutes in less than a month. So… now she has to wait for a new phone card. Hopefully this will teach her a little lesson. We do plan on purchasing her a new phone card soon. I guess then we will see how fast she blows through these minutes and see if she learned her lesson.
