No camping this weekend

By this time every week I am usually posting about our upcoming camping trip for this weekend.  Then on Sunday I am usually crabbing because we haven’t been able to go due to the weather.  Well I’m here to report that we now have no plans on going camping this upcoming weekend.  We were going to, but my youngest son kind of messed up that plan.  But in a good way.  One of his best friends at school is having his birthday party this weekend and has invited Daniel to go.  Since this is a boy that Daniel plays with a lot and talks about a lot, we have agreed to let him go.  So for the first time in about a month, I really don’t care what the weather will be like.  But, watch it be nice.  lol

Family vacation in France

One of my best friend is headed on a three week vacation this summer to France. And although I couldn’t be more thrilled for her that she is able to take part in this wonderful vacation, I am also a little bit jealous as well. What I wouldn’t give to jump into her suitcase and arrive at a destination like Morbihan. This is definitely one of my biggest dreams in life, and mark my words, before my time on earth is finished, I will be headed out to France for my own once in a life time vacation destinations.

There are so many places for a person to go see in France that it would take a person a life time to experience all the experiences that France has to offer. But if it were me going to France instead of her, one area that I would definitely be exploring would be the Orne area. From pictures that I have seen on the television and in newspapers this spot looks so inviting and relaxing.

If I were to go anytime soon though I would probably end up taking my kids with me. If I ended up taking the children, then a definite stopping spot would be in Perigord Pourpre. They have so many activities going on in this area that there is definitely something that the whole family would enjoy.

But until I am able to realize this dream of mine, I’ll just have to be content with looking at the pictures that my friend will take and bring home to us. I really do hope that she has a wonderful time, I just wish I could be going with her.

Not a good day for a barbecue

Today both the kids are suppose to be having a barbecue and I have to say that’s it’s not a very good day for it.  Last month they both went to the town hall and planted some marigold seeds.  Today they were going back to plant the marigold flowers and as a thanks for all their hard work, the town was putting on a barbecue for all the kids involved.  But it’s been raining outside all morning and is just now starting to clear up.  But kids will be kids and I know they will enjoy their adventure; even in the rain.  I don’t think the volunteer parents and teachers will be too impressed, but as long as the kids have a good time, I guess that’s all that matters.  I’m just happy that I didn’t volunteer for this particular field trip.

How times have changed

When I was busy having my babies, there weren’t many options to choose from when ordering baby shower invitations, birthday invitations or even wedding invitations. How times have changed. Now you can find so many cute invitations to pick from that would suit any and all needs. You can even get companies to custom make invitation for you. It’s unbelievable how much technology has evolved just in recent years. But, since my baby making years are about eight years behind me, I guess my next custom order of invitations will come in the form of graduation invitations. But since my daughter is just headed in to grade 5 I guess I have a few years to worry about all this, now don’t I?

Looking for a new phone

Over the weekend my cell phone died a slow and painful death. I knew it was on it’s last legs, but I was seriously hoping that it would at least last until the 20th of this month. The only reason why I have a cell phone is for emergencies when the kids are in school. If I happen to be out of the house and the kids need to get a hold of me, they can. School ends on the 20th so I thought if my phone could last until then then I would need to go out and get another one until September. Other than when their in school, I really don’t need one. So later in the week I’m going to check out some different types of cell phones, and I’m seriously leaning towards purchasing an unlocked phone. Since they can pretty much be used where ever I want I think this is the type of phone that would suit me the best.

I really need to do better research

A couple of weeks ago my daughter’s violin teacher had a discussion with them all about what instrument they would like to play next year.  They had the choice between the violin, the chello or the base.  I managed to talk my daughter out of playing the chello and the base as I honestly think that these two instruments are way to big for her to play (she’s quite tiny).  She then indicated that she would like to learn how to play the violina in grade 6.  Stupid me thought the violina was a smaller instrument than the violin so I agreed.

Well this weekend I discovered that this instrument is actually quite big as well.  But I haven’t said too much to her about it as I have another year to worry about this.  If she grows (a lot) then I will let her play this instrument.  But if she stays tiny then I guess her and I will be having another conversation about this particular instrument.

Back to normal

Today is the last day of my husband’s vacation. I would like to say that I’m sorry to see this time end, but really I’m not. I spent an entire week with him bugging me. Honestly having one man home is worse than having two little kids home. At least the kids will go play and do something. And when they ask me to come see something they will wait until I am able to do so. Not so with him. He thinks as soon as he bellows I should go running. Honestly after having him home for a week, I seriously thought I may need to check out Phentermine no prescription just to lose the weight I have gained in the last week. When I get stressed I eat and I was stressed a lot. But tomorrow things will get back to normal and that includes my eating habits as well.

Swimming was a success!

So yesterday my daughter went on her field trip to the aquatic center.  If you recall in an earlier post, I was quite nervous about letting her go as she really can’t swim but thinks she can.  The only way I would let her go was by going in myself to supervise.  I must say I was highly impressed with her teacher.

When I got to the aquatic center and spoke to her about Kara’s dilemma, she was extremely understanding and explained to me exactly where Kara would go swimming.  She would not go in the “Olympic sized” pool, but would go into a smaller one at the end of the building.  She then walked me and Kara over to the “little” pool and showed us how deep and safe it was.  Kara got in and had a blast.  The water level was just up to her chest area and her swimming in that deep of water was just fine with me.  Kara couldn’t have cared less if she went in to the big pool or not and was quite content to swim where we told her too.

So all my fears were put to rest and Kara had a wonderful time.  So it was a great day for the both of us.  And I have to give a lot of the credit for this wonderful day to her wonderful teacher.
